Guys it was a day to kinda wind down in Geneva before heading out in the morning. Considering I went to bed at 3am this morning, it's been kinda brutal.

HOWEVER, I did head into Geneva and do a little window shopping on a few other brands. Headed to FP Journe for a person tour and met with the CEO. No pictures whatsoever allowed inside the factory, but I can assure you this is a 'family' operation and the pieces are amazing. For me they were a little small size wise, but no surprise there. The movements and story behind the brand may still get me to buy one.

At hotel:

Super rude, but it was nice to go in a see some of the new pieces including pilot (it looks worse in person than I thought). No pics allowed--period.

Kinda cool Forsey (one of Papi's former employees):

Got to FINALLY try Dato UP/Down...VERY glad I did--WAY too small for me. Zeitwerk is a different story.

A little something for the girlfriend...NOT!

Time to say Au revoir to Geneva in the morning...it has been a once in a lifetime trip and will have more to write once I have time to catch my breath.

Thank YOU all for coming to read the thread...it's been a ton of fun...back to US in the morning

Lovely pictures Paul. Its funny I found the 41mm Dato anything but small. I guess its all about what everyone is used to. Thanks for sharing.

Awesome pics and sharing the insider's experience that most of us mere mortals would never have the opportunity of experiencing.

Btw, the Dato looks perfect on your wrist.

I sitting here at breakfast and about to head to the airport. While sad that the fun is ending, I'm so thankful for all of the great new friends I met along the way (just an INCREDIBLE group that was put together).

As someone mentioned, it was a WIS dream come true, but even more so when it's the brand that you're really passionate about.

Over the next few days as I return home, I'm going to capture my thoughts and write more detailed review. My goal was to get the pics up for you as quickly as I could, and not have as much narrative.

This entire trip would not have happened without AP or Govberg Jewelers. I will say it again, first class all the way. More about all of that later...but rest assured it speaks volumes about both brands the way they treated us the entire time.

Back to reality

Paul when you get a chance to elaborate about the Dato being small, I would love to hear more. If anything I would have guessed it was going to be on the larger side.

Very interesting comment, it seems like you are more comfortable with the larger size such as myself so I appreciate getting thus synopsis of the Dato and other watches you have tried on. Thank you for taking time to write and post pics of your adventure. Now you need to do a factory tour of your new love.....Lamborghini!

So I was with Paul in Geneva trying on the Dato and Zeitwork. The black dial does make it seem smaller than its 41mm dimension but it looked great on me (Paul, you're going to ruin my finances) and for some reason it did wear a little small on Paul's wrist even though we have about the same wrist size. Probably more of a preference and more like what your used to than a dimension thing. Zeitwork looked great on Paul and too large for me.

As Martin eluded to, the Dato 41mm (and I LOVE IT) is just too small on my wrist. The pic does not show correct--in person it looks small (for me). As Marin mentioned it looked AWESOME on his wrist. They did not have the WG Zeitwerk, but did the RG, and it was perfect on my wrist--go figure. Of course I like larger watches as you know, so your milage may vary. I HIGHLY suggest trying on ANY Lange before buying one. Had I bought the Dato Up/Down sight unseen, I would have been very unhappy with size upon receipt.

Thanks again Paul for the amazing report! Really appreciate all your valuable contributions to TRF. I hope to get an AP one day just can't find the right fit for me (The RO offerings on bracelets do not wear right on my 6.5" wrist and unfortunately the 44mm ROO is too darn big). Did they ever make an all ceramic 42mm ROO?
