So I realize I haven't revisited this thread in a while and I have made some unexpected jumps along the way.

I have sold the vintage Tudor to a friend, picked up a black Daytona C and last week a new Explorer I (wearing this while I type.)

What is prompting my update is the Daytona is on the block for something I have been considering for a while ... should have details sorted in the next couple of days and will update the family photo.

For now this new and improved Explorer I is very satisfying.

here you'll see the daytona doesn't stay too long and the TT Sub loses its TT bracelet. the bracelet was so worn, i was beginning to think it would just fall apart on my wrist soon, so i replaced it with a modern SS bracelet with SEL for half the price asked for a replacement TT version.

some images of what the TT bracelet looked like prompting the replacement. it had just been polished and was sold seperately. notice the wear notches in both the gold and SS parts of the bracelet.

also there is a picture of my idea of a watch collection, when the submariner was all i could think about.

Well I'm back up to 5. Explorer I added
Daytona C gone, love the watch, I just cannot tell the time or read the minute counter.

New additon here, been admiring this brand for sometime and finally came across the combination I was looking for.

Will have to update the family photo when I get a chance.

Congratulations! Laurent Ferrier is a favorite of mine. The model is truly stunning. I hope it founds home in your collection.
I have an Explorer 1 MK1 which I nickname as "t-rex" (short hands- rolex explorer) very easy to read and also very comfortable.

Congrats, Gus! Explorer I is a great choice!

And congrats on the LF! It's beautiful. Which reference is it?

It is a SS Galet Micro rotor.

The traditional ferrier hands and markers are so very nice however I have rarely come across the combination of breguet numerals and hands.

See you in NYC for Patek event?

Great journey! Miss the Jumbo though, I think it would compliment your steel trio very well - Nautilus and Daytona

Ahhh, still tinkering Gus

You have a very cool collection and I must say, unique as well. I'm in the same boat as you on many levels. A watch first and foremost needs to be legible

Love what you've done

A lot of great and iconic watches have come and gone, part of the evolution we experience while enjoying the hobby.

No regrets though of all the pieces that have moved on the 5711 is the one that stands out as a special piece where the whole is greater than the sum of its parts. The Daytona has been a favorite since the begining and also has that quality and though I have owned 3 of them, the simple fact is that I can not read the time on the watch very well and especially the minute counter.

Here is the current group. Who knows where it ends up in the future:)

Thanks to you all for following along.

The jumbo is just about the best watch there is on paper, it just wasn't very compelling on my wrist. The case shape and fit however was truly a masterpiece and the side view of the watch wrapping around my wrist always made me smile.

Thanks much Brian, so true if I can't read a watch it is on borrowed time
