I don't like bling on my watch but those diamond markers are quite elegant. I would rock it for sure.

Dedication.

If it makes you feel better, that watch with the attire just screams class. I tend to dress similarly when I'm wearing it as well (some decent pants/jeans and a dress shirt). It's way too nice of a watch to lounge in my workout attires hah.

My local AD told me the 5170P will be discountined shortly within 3-5 years.
Is it true?
I really like this but if i buy it now it will mess up my collection plan.
Ideally was looking to purchase this in 2 years.
However if this truly will be discountined shortly I think I need to change my plan..

Hi appa666.
I hope you get it soon. For all you know, it might be discontinued earlier.
This is a very nice watch.

I think 5170P will be discontinued before the next 3-5 years. I is a very beautiful watch and I don't think you will have a problem obtaining it within next 2 years as it is readily available and not moving very fast at least in the UK. MSRP is Ł 73 790 but BNIB can be had for below Ł 60000

Thank you for your input.
Chrono24 has relatively close list price, have been eyeing it since seen it in person in June.
I am not very familiar with UK pricing.
Is the price VAT included or excluded?
Thanks!

Correct, but a used Ł60k piece is actually only around Ł1k less than a new piece if the buyer is lucky enough to be able to reclaim VAT on the new piece.

Buying used you need to think careful about the VAT amount you will be able to reclaim, used pieces will include VAT on the margin (or no VAT if non VAT registered seller) and not on the total, this means buying used you will only be able to claim VAT on the dealers margin and not the total - this is the reason so many pieces are going grey, a 20% reduction in price is simply the VAT refund if purchased by a non UK resident and then sold on to a grey.

Now everything looks more reasonable now on Chrono24 after your explanation.
UK sounds like the right place to visit, it would be my first visit to a PP Salon as well.
Gotta do some planning

Lack of stock and a policy of not selling hard to get pieces to new/non UK customers will be the major problem. London has a great many AD's and the Salon so great for looking.

I bought this piece because it’s for me one of the most beautiful PP watches, also when money doesn’t matter.
Because the watch is also classic, sporty and modern.
When PP stops to build the watch we will see what happens. I am happy to have this beautiful piece.

Love everything about it except water resistance. I wish you could put a Patek rubber strap on it for summer.

I don't think every AD operates a policy of not selling hard to get pieces to non UK customers. Recently there were two 5990 incomings and one 5712 incoming by non UK residents. I think both 5990 and 5712 are hard to obtain than 5170P

I have recently seen 5170p in the window of several London ADs. So should not be that hard to get here.

Sorry but you can’t compare a 5170P with a standard Nautilus, the 5170P is a watch for really enthusiastic watch freaks.
If someone put this watch on his wrist he will know which things make the difference and why the watch is so beautiful.

5170p

i had my ups and downs with the watch but there was never any doubt that is is an exquisite piece with a lot of patek DNA and with high horological content. it shines on the wearer's wrist like not many watches do. the diamonds have been discussed over and over, i could do without them but they are there and let us get over it. i have ordered the piece for 2019 and my AD is guaranteeing delivery (as has been noted here it is not really a rare piece now). actually, i have cancelled my order of the 5320G and will take the 5170P instead.
