Nfl 2024

I was just looking at the QB stats for the year.

Stirring the pot here.

Trevor Lawrence: 9 TDs, 3 INTS, 92.3 QB Rating
Jalen Hurts: 7 TDs, 4 INTS, 94.4 QB Rating
Patrick Mahomes: 6 TDs, 8 INTs, 82.5
Dak Prescott: 8 TDs, 6 INTs, 85.4
Brock Purdy: 9 TDs, 7 INTs, 91.2 QB Rating
Caleb Williams: 9 TDs, 5 INTs, 88.7

Top Tier (at least so far):
Josh Allen: 12 TDs, 0 INTs, 108.4 QB Rating
Joe Burrow: 14 TDs, 2 INTs, 110.4 QB Rating
Baker Mayfield: 15 TDs, 5 INTs, 109.4 QB Rating
Lamar Jackson: 10 TDs, 2 INTs, 104.4
Jared Goff: 10 TDs, 4INTs, 111.5 QB Rating
Sam Darnold: 12 TDs, 5 INTs, 104 QB Rating

yeah it's a weird qb season, i don't think there are any standout mvp candidates yet besides mahomes since they're 6-0? but it's also his worst season so far and horrible by any standard

this would be a good year for the mvp to go to a non qb, maybe JJ if he puts up 1700+ yards and the vikings end with like < 4 losses?

also another crazy qb stat is Herbert is on pace for like 2700 yards this year. weird offense

Mahomes isn't on the MVP list. He's obviously not the reason they are winning. If you're going to hand out MVP for KC being 6-0, it goes to Spags. That offense is bad enough to be 1-5 without Spags.

An obvious QB candidate will emerge around Thanksgiving. I like Lamar again, but Henry's performance will taint his candidacy.

If the Eagles can overcome their internal dysfunction, and keep feeding the run game, Saquon could be an MVP candidate this year.

Patrick Mahomes stats are especially striking. I still think he’s the best QB in the league, but the Chiefs look vulnerable.

Without Christian McCaffrey, Brock Purdy looks pedestrian. I won’t say he’s a bust or an imposter, but he needs elite players around him to excel.

Josh Allen and Joe Burrow are putting up some impressive numbers. A lot of folks left both of them for dead, but these guys are still young and highly talented.

If I were a 49er, Cowboys, or Eagles GM, I’d trade Purdy, Prescott, or Hurts for Lawrence in a heartbeat. Probably unfair to Hurts though…because now that Brown and Smith are both playing, he looks much better. Plus, the Eagles just don’t throw that much since they’re second overall in rushing.

This seems like as good of thread to drop this question set in. My son turns 13 in two weeks. One of the things he has asked for is a trip to Lambeau Field to see a Packers game. I am not historically a Packers fan, but....we are going. Tickets bought, planes, car, hotel, all booked. We fly in late Saturday and out early Monday (vs Lions). We are staying about a block from the stadium.

Looking for restaurant recommendations and/or anything to see or do in the GB area pre-game. Any suggestions?

agree but sadly these days the award just goes to the quarterback of the best team in the league so that's the only reason i mentioned mahomes

Lamar could go back to back though if he puts up his usual numbers but that i kinda glanced over him
because it's hard to tell if the ravens are good or not right now

MVP talk shouldn't be allowed until after Thanksgiving.
Far too much of the year yet to unfold.

Been a Lions fan for 50 years. Nice to see how Cambell has built a solid, cohesive team. Goff has turned into the perfect QB for that team.

If I were to describe the Lions in a word, it would be "selfless". They are remarkable in that there are legitimate superstars, but no divas. Goff's low key personality is a perfect fit for the Lions. It's a special team culture that is very rare in pro sports these days.

The thing the Lions fans need to look out for is injuries. Aidan Hutchinson being out is a HUGE loss. They might be fine for a while, but if injuries pile up, things can go south pretty quickly.

Eagles started last year at 10-0 despite a lot of injuries, and then before you know it, five starters are out, and then the backups get hurt. Now you have a team with backups to the backups playing, and that’s how you end up with the worst defense in football.

I’m not saying this will happen to the Lions, but in the NFL, it’s a short trip from the penthouse to the outhouse. It’s not good enough to be good, you have to stay healthy, too.

He won't get it but if you had to select MVP today explain to me why it's not Derrick Henry. He is on pace to break Dickersons single season yardage record and without question is the difference maker in Bmore. Jerruh didn't want him lol

I was wondering, how much the Jets would want for Mike Williams.

They did win 13 games without him last year. Had the best record in the NFL. It's not like he's resurrecting the franchise.

He dramatically improves their offense. He spreads the field and Lamar doesn't need to find a running lane every play. When he's on the field their offense is very difficult to defend. That's what an MVP does, impact the team in a way no one player can. It's not about what the team did last year.

I still like Lamar for the repeat, but Henry and Saquon are impacting their teams with MVP caliber play.

i wonder what it would take for a RB or WR to win mvp again. maybe if Henry does get 2000+ yards again and the ravens have the best record? but then what do Lamar's stats have to be to not get picked lol

It’s time to bench Rodger for Tyrod Taylor. If this was any other team, the coach would be making this call for the upcoming Sunday. Alas this will not happen and the Jets season will slowly slip away. Same ol’ Jets. It’s time for the brown bag over the head, again.

The defense is moving on to next year too. The season is over. Rogers is over the hill and Woody doesn't know how to walk away from his dream scheme.

Rams looked good. Maybe Kupp will stay in LA now.

Have teams cracked the Flores code, or was the Vikings record mostly the product of playing bad teams?

idk i think the rams are just a better team when healthy. better coaching too

vikings record is probably a combination of playing bad teams and no one having proper preparation on them with so much of their roster falling apart during the pre season games

The Vikings just announced that LT Christian Darrisaw is out for the season. That makes it even worse for them. You just can’t replace guys like this.
