I have been called a lot of things, but never a talking woman. Guess things are really changing as I get older. Now, I don't feel so bad about wearing my wife's clothes.

Guess that means you can pretty much expect things to stay the same now 'cause you've pretty well got it all covered eh?

That's just perfect. Took me forever to realize that when you wear a bra that snaps in the back; you just put it on backwards and spin it around. Should I have said that.

What I thought you were going to say is that it fits better backwards!

Isn't that why tube socks got invented?

Just sitting out on the front pourch talking trash with the wife; wondering when we should run inside before the storms hit; watching the four kids play, fight, argue, and just have plain ole' fun. Then a thought hit me hard, which was that....I wish that time would stand still and the kids would not grow up. Ain't worried about me getting old as I am already old. Just want the joy and happiness in front of me to stay as it is. Won't happen. This is not my first family to raise, but for some reason; it is the family that I do not want to grow up. What a putz I have become.

Come over and sit on the putz couch with me, Joe! I have that thought all too often, and it gets me teary eyed sometimes...

I had a similar feeling when Phoebe started kindergarten three years ago. One of my husband's colleagues told my husband, "At our house we've adopted the tuck and roll approach" to the kids' first day at school. As in, drive up to the school and slow down long enough for them to, you know.... helpful if the car has suicide doors.

You know, many times I've been so glad we had our little accident, Violet. Kind of nice, despite it all, to have a little baby to love again.

I took some fun pictures today of our house, inside and out - and hope to post them tonight. Finally can give you guys a little tour. I decided that if I waited for all the fixtures to be up, paintings to be hung, rooms to be tidied, and furniture to arrive, I'd never take the photos.

Joe, how coy you are! And I thought that was a womanly art! So.... is 67 even close? I'll tell you how old I am but I think everyone already knows - because I'm so darn proud of being able to have babies at my age!

Hmm... if you were a woman, I'll bet you wouldn't be having babies....

Where to start. Yes you are close; just a little high, but not by that much. Pride runs deep in our family and being proud of what we do is very important. So with that said, while you are still VERY young; having Violet when you did was something I admire. Not easy and since, as we get older, we understand true responsibilty; the rewards and sacrifices are so much greater and yes....enjoyed. Man, I have lost my train of thought. Must be time to grope the wife and call it a day. You know, if the members read all these posts, and especially the Mods, they will never let me post on the regular forums again.

I'd say you're wise "beyond your years," but.... maybe just "wise" will do.

Guys, I finally got some photos together of our "work in progress" house. Here's a few pictures I took this morning. There's still so much to do, inside and out, but as I said earlier if I waited until everything was perfect to take pics I'd never take them...

This has happened before, but I rotated the vertical photos on Photobucket, yet they don't show up rotated here. Hmm... Sorry about that.

What kind of chimney pots do you think would look good?

[IMG][[/IMG]/IMG]

This is a house a little to the east of us. Isn't it neat?
[/IMG][/IMG]

Here's a corner of the living room - you can see the entry foyer.
[/IMG]

Violet kept crawling to the fireplace to chew on the fake rocks in the gas fireplace, hence the barricade!

[/IMG]

I'm still working on the curtains here....
[/IMG]

Dining room to the west of living room...

[/IMG]

We moved the curtains from our old house and luckily they fit...
[/IMG]

Eating area to the west of formal dining room - I loved the Craftsman style built in cabinetry - holds lots of stuff, too.[/IMG]

Tried to create a vintage kitchen, with real linoleum floors and soapstone countertops. Most of the cabinetry is original, and so are tile backsplashes. Circa 1950 O'Keefe & Merritt gas stove. Cooks like a dream!

[/IMG]

[/IMG]

Hallway bath near the kitchen. The tiny little sink is a "toothbrushing" sink - I'd never seen anything like it. Tile's in pretty good shape, but this bath had the most wear.
[/IMG]

There are three hallways that make a "U" shape, more or less, and they surround the stairwell to the basement.
[/IMG]

8 year old's room, complete with clutter and pet mouse.

[/IMG]

4 year old's room, complete with 4 year old...

[/IMG]

The baby's room has its own bath - didn't get a shot of her room because we're just storing junk in it at the moment....
[/IMG]

This is the kids' favorite tub....
[/IMG]

Here is where the children attempt to distract me (in vain) from TRF.
[/IMG]

Master bedroom, which has a sitting room, dressing area and bath. It was apparently built for the original owner's mother.
[/IMG]

[/IMG]

Sitting room taken from the dressing area. Bedroom is to the left.
[/IMG]

This is my favorite bathroom, but no one uses it! It's next to the dressing area. Dave found the sink on Ebay, but the other baths' sinks are original.

[/IMG]

Little glimpse of door hardware. Some knobs are glass, too.
[/IMG]

Whew! Time for one last shot - to wash down those pills!

[/IMG]

(sigh) LOVE the house - wonderful character!! Using the children as accent pieces in your photos is especially effective...

The toothbrushing sink is so cute!

Lisa, your home is absolutely breathtaking! You have an incredible flair for decorating. How the heck do you keep it that tidy with that many kids?
