When I was a kid i never saw the danger in it....Im sure Rodeo riding is bad or worse maybe....If I knew what I know now I would have never raced because I pay the price for it everyday now. I would race with fractured wrist and broke ankles and for pain I would take Percodans ( which got me hooked on opiates at 15 and still am 40 years later) and still race. I thought I was superman....it was just the dope. Im sure my parents did not know what oxycodone was and thought if a doc gave it to you it must be safe. The horse riding stuff does not look to dangerous but I would skip the bull riding I hope you son NEVER gets hurt. |

I know some friends who are going. Someone at Dave's work offered to sell him tickets but said no. I'm not much for huge crowds but this show might be worth it. Funny that our little Victorian town of Guthrie is the venue. |

Whew, hot out there today. What town? There is something ultra cool about horse and rider carrying our flags.
We just got back from P's games. Overtime in the second match, but they managed to win both games. |

Glad they won both! Very hot and humid here today as well. Looks like the usual rain is on the way.

It's 101 right now. Ugh. Poor D and her family being out at that rodeo! Hope they have lots of cold drinks on hand.

Lisa: I hear you about the big crowds. I's 1/2 hour from DC and I don't go to most of the stuff like Inaugurations and 4th of July fireworks and all. I get all "let me outta here" with crowds like that. I'm not so good with heat either. I guess I'm just a wuss :-)
Still no job. A little over 3 weeks to go before I go whole hog into my own thang. The new Facebook page has +100 likes (yay) and the new website is getting good reviews. I hope everyone else is doing well.

[QUOTE=Lisa;4395822]As for the super-sized pair... I might have them made into sunglasses. Maybe people will mistake me for 1990s Stevie Nicks.
Only if you sound like a goat :-) I loved the South Park episode :-)

No, THIS is a perfect Mickey. And it's in MY BRAIN! Mikki has a Mickey. Now I'm waiting for Disney to sue me for infringement.

Hi Everyone....ugh, hot and stormy here as well...
Lisa - I'm sure your girls had fun, and it's always a bonus when they win the games! D - how's the rodeo going? On a random watch note, I stopped by a local jeweler today and noticed some pre-owned Rolex watches. They did have an older Explorer; not sure how old but the bracelet had some stretch and the clasp wasn't flip lock. I didn't care since I just wanted to try it on for looks. It was 'ok'....the black dial was sharp but I still wonder if black dials are a bit harsh on me... For the most part I do prefer lighter dials on myself. Hmmm... Surprisingly, something else caught my eye...an older style Air King with engine turned bezel and salmon dial I think it was a 2001 and they wanted $3200 which is absurd. I loved the dial and while smaller than what I'm used to being 34mm, the bezel made it appear a bit larger. I can only imagine how much chunkier the new style AKs are....need to try one! |

Isn't that funny about black dials?! I owned a Submariner for 4.5 years. It was my first and only black dial but over time I wore it less and less often. Then I pretty much stopped after getting my Daytona so I sold it. My husband wears one and I always admire it on him, but it's not me anymore. I'll probably nix the Explorer from the list.

Waaaayyyy back 40 years ago when I was 14-15 I started racing motocross and then flat track....I got hurt ....bad.
When I was a kid i never saw the danger in it....Im sure Rodeo riding is bad or worse maybe....If I knew what I know now I would have never raced because I pay the price for it everyday now. And since he has moved up to the 18 and under competitions, one of the boys on the team who is 17, has been doing the bronc riding. He will probably do that at least through next season. I hope my kiddo decides he likes the other events just as well and sticks to those. |

I went to OSU with Gentner Drummond. We were both at some kind of party or something - can't remember... it was nearly 30 years ago. He introduced himself and said, "I'm sure you've heard of my family." I had to say, "Um, no." He looked at me like I was some kind of moron. He apparently has his own law firm in Tulsa now. Wild mustangs - that would have been something to see! |

I actually wasn't expecting to see anything...was accompanying a friend who needed a jewelry repair. The dial on the AK was a combo of sticks and Arabics (3, 6, 9). Really nice. I thought of you when I saw the salmon! I found some pics online of the newer 114210 with what still appears to be a salmon dial. It looks great. The sticks are thick with lots of lume. Not sure if there's a pinky pink AK dial...
