As for the sexist comments on this forum, I know I am frankly tired of reading them. I understand fully that being a woman in this so-called men's watch world (though I'm not sure I would even agree with that) and I don't dare to compare myself to you ladies who have to deal with such comments and statements but at times I find it hard to post in threads in which such comments are written, frankly I happen to be ashamed when I have to read people of my gender who cannot respect women for what they really are and especially when I have to deal with people who cannot help but become real animals whenever they see a woman in a picture. Not only is it sexist and inappropriate but I also find this attitude very immature...

I did not bother to post in this thread but I may very well change my mind, I've read enough of those silly comments all over the place and I honestly feel like it's not only tiring and redundant but also not necessary at all. It isn't hard to find sexy women on internet and drool over certain pictures, if that's your type of thing then, by all means, be me guess but I know I'm not posting around here for that.

Now of course if I see pictures of women wearing Rolex watches (or any watches for that matter) I will not be shy and will comment if I think it fits them well. I am mature enough to be able to tell if a woman or a man is attractive or not and I don't mind pictures of female celebrities or any woman for that matter (why would I?) but there's a line that we shouldn't cross and a big of judgement is, in my opinion, far from being too much to ask.

P.S.: Regarding the jokes section, I read them pretty often and find most of them rather funny but when one is being sexist or just plain inappropriate I don't quite like it. I love laughing at jokes but at times it's just not funny...

Can't wait to see what you decide to do...! Stephanie
Hi Stephanie! Glad you chimed in. I still think the Explorer is great, just have a feeling I'm better off skipping the black dial. Funnily enough, today I was able to try on the newer style AK and it's awesome! The AD only had the smooth bezel which didn't surprise me, but I still prefer the engine turned overall. They didn't have the 3-6-9 white, but they had the silver and also the blue. I tried both. Really wanted to see the salmon but it wasn't in stock either The blue is cool....silver is nice and neutral (though my husband thought it was boring with no contrast)....I am sure I'd love the white!!!! But since my Daytona is white and I'm known to always go for white, I think I should get something different. Such a nice solid watch!

I'd love to see photos of yours please!!!

Sorry for the long-winded response!!!

All kidding aside, I ended up replying to the comment. It may sound like somebody asking for trouble but if they feel like they have the right to voice their sexist opinions I guess I have the right to voice mine if I find such posts foolish.

I'm really glad it helps. It's almost time for another discussion with the doc. I'll see what he recommends. Thanks for the tips. 400mg+ a day...wow. And yeah, walking kicks my butt too.

Hi All,
Ive missed a lot from here the last couple days. Ive been around here and there, a bit busy but able to run in read and run out again.

Art... great watch! you took the jump. I love the colouring of it.

That thread in the Omega forum was stupid. I did post early on, maybe pg 1 and I never returned to look at it. Was stupid and I felt foolish enough responding that I never went back.

J, AirKing is a nice watch. I like a couple without date funtion and so I omitted them right away. When I start to question myself if I really need the date or not, I inevitably end up looking at my watch to see what the date is! I roll my eyes when I do thinking if perhaps subconsciously I did this or not.

D, cool pics of the rodeo and your kids are quite talented.

Mikki, I loved going to DC when I lived in NC. Lots of party places. haha Mind you, I was much younger in the 90's than now.

Carl, LOL, I think you should send me a pic of what you look like so I know where to send the cigars I bring back from Cuba.

I too like the jokes in the joke thread, for the most part.

Bas, you look handsome, Red is a great colour for you. It was beautiful here today but a few days ago I wondered if I should be taking out my fall jackets already.

Greg, had a little too much fun at the casino huh? Sounds like you could use a bit of fun.

Lisa, the family pic is a nice one. You DO look younger than your sister.

Sorry, will have to go back and read to see what I missed. Hope your weekend (all) was a great one.

And no, I tried to get a job in broadcasting since I had several before I went to college. When I figured out I could make more as a secretary, work 9-5 and no weekends, and not have people walking up to me in the middle of conversations with "Hey, aren't you....?" I started looking for another path. When my then husband started a business, I figured that someone in the house better be able to make some money, had already fallen in love with First Amendment law, so retook the LSAT (I bombed it first time) and scored well enough that I went after top tier schools and actually caught one before it got away.

I never regretted the decision, but sometimes the old radio/tv days call. Just had an old air check digitized. I can't wait to hear how weird 1980s radio was.
Very interesting about your career path, Mikki. I don't know if your area was hard hit economically at that time, but Oklahoma was still reeling from the famed Penn Square Bank failure and the oil bust, and jobs were very hard to come by. I worked for almost 2 years after graduation at the same hospital job I held during college... it was hard to think about accepting any job offers relating to my degree because they paid far less than I was already making, especially since I was entirely on my own financially for the first time. However, my nights hospital schedule allowed me to do free internship work during the day, so I could gain experience. That helped me eventually land a job.

I focused on print journalism, with an emphasis in advertising, and ended up getting a job in a state agency as a public information officer. Speech writing, news releases, brochures, and so on, and every now and then I'd get to do a radio or TV interview. Not much pay, but good job security at that time.

For extra income, I did some freelance voice work and really liked it. You know how you call a business and get put on hold and sometimes have to listen to a person talk about the business you're on hold with? Well, that was me talking. "Thanks for calling Light Bulb Supply, where you'll find the widest assortment of bulbs to suit your every need. Your call is important to us. We'll be with you shortly."

My checking account was at Penn Square Bank when they went under.
Took me 5/ 6 weeks to get my very small amount out of the bank.
A guy I worked with back in 82 told me his brother was a "oilfield lending officer" at PSB....he told me of all the lavish parties they had and bought
"diamond stick pens" for years of service at the bank.....that cost 2k for one.
Does not sound like much now but in 82 2k would be like 4500-5000 now.
If you could spell oil they would give you a loan.

Well I don't smoke so cigars will not be necessary (though I'm pretty sure I could put them on a small string and have very original Christmas decorations this year...), however, I must say your post surprises me a little bit...

...I didn't know Canada Post needed a picture of me to send me a package, is the postman going to run all around the city looking for me?

At the risk of sounding out of line I must say that you are a very pretty and elegant lady (if that's the way of saying it).

Stephanie, I really like the looks of that watch. I am one of the rare one's who really like the look of a Rolex without the date. The one Leo's Pam got is very nice, I have seen it. I also much prefer the oyster bracelet..

If he would only find time to post a pic.

I've posted in that omega vs sub topic but I haven't read the nasty comment(s) yet.
I don't understand why anyone would type insulting comments on a forum like this
