Congrats! That was one of my high school dream cars as well. My Dad bought a new Estoril blue on magma M3 in 98. Had to leverage everything short of the house to do it lol. I loved that car. My friend has a 99 M3 that’s a dedicated track car. I’ve spent many hours under that car!

Last year I bought a Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing. It's much better and much more fun and much more comfortable than I ever expected that it would be. It's also a lot faster than I expected and quite frankly, scares me when I really get on it.

I do occasionally go to the track for HPDE. I decided that this car is too expensive and too fast and will (probably) eat up tires too quickly for me to take it to the track. So the search for a track car commenced.

I won't bore you with my criteria and search, but I ended up deciding on a C6 Corvette, and for various reasons decided against the Z06 or even the GS (I am on a budget) and found this lovely, low mileage one owner, pictured below.

Unfortunately, I got one that's a little bit too nice, and so now I debating on whether or not I even want to take it to the track (I think I will). It's going to stay stock, I'll just slap some decent brake pads on it, and new tires, and it should be fine.

It's a 2008 with 6500 miles. Those are the original 2007 tires.
Well done! The C6 is a great pickup, especially with those miles. I’ve thought about the Blackwing a few times but never committed. It’s a beast of a car!

Very nice! Congratulations! Drove a 1986 325es for 4 years in college…still love the old school 3 series, as well as the new models, they’ll always have a place in my heart .

Car Love Thread

I’ve admired the Roma design since they were introduced….very pure, nod to the past, one of the most beautiful and elegant designs Ferrari has produced in a very long time.
I wouldn’t have traded my F8 for one, as I really love what it is, what its purpose is, and its mid-engine heritage and design. It’s very, very special in so many ways for me. The Roma is a great compliment to the F8.
I was looking for a more daily/touring type vehicle, and I’m a fan of diversity when owning a few cars. So I cross shopped Porsche (which I love very much), Bentley GT, Maserati, etc…all have very beautiful, capable, do most anything great, models….but Ferrari has my heart (aspired to from a young age) and the Roma checked all the boxes as they say.
As I said, I’ve admired and driven Romas, and this one, (2022 under 1000 miles) is spec’d not a lot different from what I would have done if starting from scratch. I’ve always liked the lighter colors on the Roma body, I feel they show the curves/lines properly , and Grigio alloy metallic is outstanding in my opinion. The way it changes and gets a blue hue to it in certain lighting nails it for me, vs the other silver/grey options Ferrari offers.
It has all the options I’d want/need , carbon fiber in the right spots, Apple car play, contrasting stitching tastefully done, matching calipers, matte wheels, alcantara very well placed/spec’d, etc….I may have added a couple items, but no deal breakers omitted, and this color is the beauty in my eyes, for my ideal Roma.
Have a great weekend everyone!

Nice E36! No sunroof? If so, that's rare! I had a '95 M3 coupe. Back in the days when 240 HP was a lot.

Beautiful car. When the Roma was very first released I could fully wrap my head around the design language. However I now think it’s one of the best looking cars in on the roads today. One of my favorites of the modern age! Big congrats! Enjoy it!

Thanks Francisco, appreciate it! No, I mentioned that I wouldn’t have traded the F8, I still have it. The Roma is certainly special, but not a replacement for the F8.

Wow Richard, this is the right spec for this model. That Grigio Alloy is one of my favorite colors and on this sexy curved Ferrari its the right one. Love the choices of wheels and interior. I have driven the Roma and I was surprised how good it sounded, dare I say, better than the F8. Its just a different car. Enjoy this beauty.

Congrats on the e36! Such a cool car. Looks like a fantastic example. So hard to find one in good shape these days.

I might have to retract and earlier statement about which Ferrari I would buy.

This is why this site is terrible for my wallet. Though, I am NOT going to act on it.

But the pics of the Roma have me pondering. That is a great touring car with sex appeal. Does everything. Can be a daily. Not too in your face, but still so nice. Loving it.

Damn you Richard.

Damn you Richard.

Admittedly, I have the best of three worlds (for my tastes), when it comes to sports cars/toys. Air cooled Porsche…crazy fast, mid-engine Ferrari…and touring/GT/daily drive type Ferrari.
Although, the power in the Roma puts it in the same realm at the 911 turbo IMO, the 911 turbo is arguably the king of “do it all”….really, really well ! Between the turbo and a Roma, I believe it’s just splitting hairs and personal preference. But you know the ultimate answer Seth…..BOTH

both indeed. and that might just happen. but if they are so similar, it might be better to go for the F8. That would be in time though.

my RRS SVR has been giving me endless issues, so I decided to upgrade. pretty annoying, but I usually had good luck with Land Rover. Not this time.

anyway, incoming enroute. nice to see that dealerships are making deals again. got this 5k under sticker. and in my typical fashion, it is a "do anything" type of car. I could haul a family, take a year long road trip or even track it. a car I have always admired, but never pulled the trigger on.

they are delivering it today. very exciting.

Congrats in advance Seth!

I am VERY interested to see what this car is as it sounds like a Escalade-V - unless your family is smaller and then your hauling capabilties dont need to be as spacious lOl (X5///M as a #2 guess)

Good Luck! - Waiting ...
