There are a lot of ethnic groups who are housing them in residential areas and I guess it's becoming a noise nuisance. The the local government's where this is happening are scurrying around trying to figure out how to handle it.

Funny...you can hit a HomeGoods or HomeSense and buy all the blown glass you want for very cheap.

Leo... was fun buying my nephew his skiing gear. He's gotten so tall from last year he needs new stuff this year. Im the cool aunt.

Still housesitting. :-) I got a bit bored and told my friend I would help paint some furniture for her mother and that would be my thanks for letting me stay in the house. Primed the 6 chairs and the table legs. Picked up the paint sprayer from my brothers last night and going to start spraying the chairs tomorrow. The table will be done by hand. I like little projects like this. Keeps me out of the malls. And I like to test myself that I can do it. I like painting.

Hope everyone is doing well. :-)

Have fun with the painting Judy, don't kick the paint pot over on the carpet, that's the sort of thing I would do.

How cute is THAT!? I will give soft boiled eggs a try, Wes. Is it difficult to get all of the white out, though? Does it come away from the shell easily?

It's nice to have an excuse to look for more dinnerware - vintage egg cups.

So what is this about Uncle Bob?

No egg from Amy this morning.... maybe tomorrow!

I could never eat hard or soft boiled eggs. Scrambled, maybe.

Sounds like you don't eat eggs much at all? After seeing some of the icky things our hens eat, I might be having second thoughts, too!

Yep, was yum. Very easy to eat the whole egg white, as long as you have a spoon that fits in.

Haha, Bob's your uncle is a another popular Britishism. Meaning something like "there you have it" or Voila or hunky dory. No idea why.

Was on a conference call the other day and the guy in Amercia had completed his I.T. thingy and said, how'd you say it, Bob's your uncle. Was pretty funny hearing him say it.

I don't. Funny thing is that I am told that I cook them well. I put them in the skillet, break the yoke, flip them a few times then put a piece of cheddar cheese on top. Salt and pepper. Put a lid on and let it melt. I have never eaten one but they love them. It's the first thing the baby want's to eat when she comes home from school. Always made them for her in the morning before a big test or a big day while in high school.

We had some commercial chicken farms around growing up. Worst smell you could imagine in one of those large coops. Maybe had 1000 chickens in them.

I like Wes' presentation though, I could make those and just look at it. Look neat.

Heh - I thought maybe it means when the egg starts bobbing around you've boiled it long enough.

Hey, I spoke too soon this morning. Amy laid another egg just a few minutes ago! She was raising a big ruckus in the backyard and that was why.

Yeah, I wouldn't want to be a poultry farmer. Nasty -- the conditions in some of those facilities are awful. I try to buy free-range, cage-free chickens and eggs. One more reason to go to Whole Foods.

There ya go! Two eggs, a little milk, salt and pepper, mix it up, a little cheddar cheese. Enough for some scrambies.

I think we have whole foods around here. Publix, our main supermarket has free range stuff.

The best way to describe the smell is like ammonia. Good fertilizer though.

Yep. Three hens produce quite a bit of poop. I add it to the compost bin. Which also happens to be their favorite place to scratch, dig and eat bugs. Wish I could train them to poop directly into the compost bin - would sure save a lot of hassle. But you know, chickens are smarter cooked than they are raw.

They always manage to get out of the way of traffic, though.

Lisa, how long are you keeping yours? Didn't you have a rabbit? I think those are all cool pets, something different.
