Here's the gift my girlfriend bought me, apparently the fifth anniversary is the wood one so she went with this...

This watch is made of wood and came in a box that was 90% made of recycled cardboard. WeWood sells those and for every watch sold they plant a tree, a good way to combine my love for watches with my interest for nature if you ask me, whether you really are into environment protection or not you must admit it's a good deal.

Now before you ask, the movement isn't made of wood, it's a quartz one...

Now that's a cool watch, Carl! Has it been treated for water resistance?

Cool, Carl! What a fun and thoughtful gift from your girlfriend.
Now, what did Lord Wes get you to commemorate your 2 years of bromance?

But it has become a slang derogatory term, but also in a jokey way if that makes sense. We even have a program here called cowboy traders. Uncovering shoddy/rippoff workman and companies.

I'm just happy to know that you can tell the difference. I'll keep the American version.

I just realized.. if any of you want info on the diamond peeps in NY, message me privately and let me know... they have a great reputation on the diamond boards and are regarded very highly.. :-) AKA great value for the money. :-) I make no money on the sales..just passing on a great opportunity to save a bit of moolah.. perhaps leaving a bit for a new watch purchase :-)

Thank you Dawna for the kind wishes! As for Wes, he didn't bring me anything yet...I bet he won't, he prefers to spend money on egg holders and pink undercrackers!

The Seiko skx diver series with the 7s26 movement is actually pretty reliable, some of them need to be regulated, but apart from that they are great workhorse movements.

That's good to know, Bas. If she's really serious about an automatic watch, I'll be able to give her some models to research.

No that's great thinking that is, a man's thinking. Put a stopcock in, in case things have to be taken apart again. The more stopcocks the better. Function over form. It even has plumbers tape on, cracking job.

I knew you'd approve. I thought about posting it as its own thread because I thought it was so funny, but then realized that only the women would see the humor, and they're all right here in the coffeeshop.

Actually Lisa, I would of used a red handle stopcock to indicate hot water. But that's my only criticism.

Actually, the look is sort of growing on me. You can't take the redneck out of the Okie, you know.

That shower head does look pretty nice Lisa, very manly!

Just got two small bead bracelets today in the mail, one dark silver-ish and one black. The beads are tiny but that's what I wanted as I want to wear them with other bracelets without having them up to my shoulder...
