Art, you photo reminds me once again the the coffeeshop is always a peaceful oasis and escape from the idiocy of the world... including other forum threads!

In other news... we're planning a short trip to San Francisco next week as Dave has a conference to attend. We'd booked a tour of Alcatraz Island... which is run by the National Park Service and is now closed until Congress gets their act together!

It's too bad you won't be able to go to Alcatraz Lisa, apparently it is quite a nice place to visit (relatively, that is...).

P.S.: I sure hope you won't wear a men's watch on your trip, that would be one heck of a faux pas...here, let me lend you one of my ladies' watches...

I'll probably wear my Lady Ball, Carl. Otherwise I'd have to wear my man's DJ and go topless with my hands placed strategically, which could make getting on and off the cable cars rather challenging.

Agree. I was surprised what a good cinematic story Singing is, because you always see just the dance snippet being played. Of course Wizard is one of the greats too...I can recite chunks of the dialogue verbatim. (Maybe everyone can.) My daughter had kind of a Dorothy fixation.

Lisa, have a great time in San Francisco. I've never been but hear only the best about it, especially as a fine dining scene. And I'm with you about the value of this Coffeeshop--I am so p#ssed right now about a certain ongoing discussion that adds no value on this forum.

Leo, sorry about your friend, and I know you're being a fine friend to him. That's the role we sometimes have to play.

The idiocy is here. Hi everyone

Lovely pics Art. Wonder if that is a Koi Carp, they are pretty.

Have fun in San Fran, Lisa. Would love to visit there one day and see the rock. Only been to the US once when 11, to LA. So many places I would like to visit there.

Is it the guy that didn't like seeing a women wearing a sub? Yes an idiotic post.

But I've given up posting on much of the forum, apart from here. Especially if I don't like a post/thread, just try to ignore it, life is too short. Is that wrong?

I know them types of posts upsets the ladies here, of course. But there is always gonna be some idiot out there that is gonna stick his foot in his mouth, engaging with them doesn't seem to help.

Karis, I'm glad you enjoyed your vacation...

J, thanx for the wonderful cake you baked for me to celebrate my "Belly Button Anniversary" yesterday...I trust everyone had a piece???

Lisa, enjoy your trip with Dave next week and wear the watch YOU want to wear. Are the girls going too??? And leave it to the Feds to ruin your sight seeing trip to Alcatraz.....

Today we leave for a few days of R & R down in Southwestern Missouri to the Ozarks where my brother and his better half live. You ladies would enjoy Mary's humor and her 'pointed barbs' as she is the "Real Deal"..... Just like my better half, Pam! The Winery about three quarters of a mile from where they live is having a celebration of the harvesting of the grapes and the making of the wine this Saturday Nite and it's called "The Stomp". So we are going and it should be fun but no wine for me especially being on these Fentanyl Patches!!!

Take care everyone and enjoy the coming weekend.....Leo

Thanks for the pic compliments all. I've alway been the type who see's all that is around me that most people would just walk past. Drives people with me crazy.

J, please don't go.

Lisa, my dad's business took him all over N. America. San Fran was his favorite city. He loves it there. It will be cold for what you and I are used to.

Our friend who doesn't like large watches on women certainly would not like it around here. The ladies are fond of Dayton's, Subs, and large Cartier watches. Especially TT Dayton's. Saw a tiny lady today wearing a blue TT Sub, looked good on her. See them in Green Subs too. Just look at the wrist of my pal tkerrmd's wife. That's what is common to see.

Oh, J? If you get a chance see Wizard in 3-d. It was like watching an entirely different movie. Amazing. I'm a bit shy to say that I even had a tear in my eye at the end. Even after seeing it so many times. It was like being right there.

Art, I want one of those costumes! I'd answer the door and scare the living daylights out of the trick or treaters.

We always made ours and they looked similar to some of those. I look forward each year to sitting outside and handing out candy. The last years have had hundreds of kids coming around. I don't know where they live since we don't seem to have many children in this neighborhood.

Though we do have quite a few kids in our own neighborhood, we get loads of kids driven in from other areas. Usually neighborhoods or apartment complexes that wouldn't be safe for trick or treating. I'm glad we can provide a place for those kids to have fun.

Wow, those Halloween pics are eerie. Some of them could get parts in a horror movie.

We don't make a big thing about Halloween here, yes there are some trick and treaters, and some parties. Most don't bother though.

Bonfire/fireworks night is much better. Guessing you guys don't have that. Remember, remember the 5th of November. Where we chuck Mr Guy Fawkes onto the Bonfire.

I need to try your approach more often, Wes! I let my anger take over when I come across those asinine threads!

From what I understand, Guy Fawkes Day is a UK tradition.... but it sounds very similar to a fall party - bonfire, roasted marshmallows, cider... with a little Independence Day fireworks thrown in! Fall hayrides and bonfires are popular around here... sometimes "haunted" hayrides through eerie forests, complete with live ghouls and goblins.
