So you're saying Carl is more giving, quicker and more able to express himself than me?

Even though he still thinks burping and farting is hilarious.

Wes the attic idea is perfect! The homes I saw in NC had great walk up attics. Over here you have to climb through a tiny square in the closet. :-( Lisa, I probably would look into that option if it was doable.

Teenagers are loud. A sign Im getting older. Lisa a couple of those kids seem to have a rough go of it. Says a lot that they find refuge in your home.

D...really? Been there? And been going on for 15yrs?!! Holy cow...thats a long time. So much going on in the world that we dont know about. :-(

Haha, well I hope the renovations go well, and not too stressful.

The Money Pit with Tom Hanks is one of my fav films, love the stair collapsing scene.

Started my internship yesterday guys! I just went for a visit yesterday afternoon and to get an idea of what it would be like but today I'm going back and starting to work on a clock...I haven't worked on a lot during my formation (they don't give us a lot of time for that class, I only did two) but I really, really loved it! Looking forward to starting!

Thank you so much Wes, I appreciate the good words!

I have to do another formation after my internship but that one will only be 5-6 months, after that...off to the shop!

Thank you Leo and you hit the nail on the head with your last sentence! Though it is true for a lot of fields experience is ever so important in watchmaking.

You can read, practice at school and learn how to work but at times experience is the only thing that will make you do things right and quickly.

Good news, Carl. Where will you be doing this internship? Is it in a repair lab away from the school?

Good Luck Carl!!

Dawna...hope the reno isnt too stressful. I must have missed the post, if you posted about it, what are you renovating? Been there done that, entire main floor..down to the studs and built up again, including floor. **whew**

Art.... I just read an article about Lion Fish out of control in the Atlantic. How have they affected your area? And have you ever eaten one? Apparently they are now being killed for food and are safe to eat.

Wes..that movie was funny. But I dont think is a good idea to watch if actively renovating.

Saw a program about lionfish, beautiful creatures, but they are not native to the Atlantic, and are decimating lots of other species. Apparently DNA evidence have shown all lionfish in the Atlantic can be traced back to between six to eight females, probably released by pet owners.

Art, maybe you should start ordering them eveytime time you eat at a restaurant.

Actually the lion fish were a problem off the coast of Jamaica and really hurt the small time fisherman there. But they learned the proper technique for cooking them and now make money catching and cooking them. But they are making their way north and up the coast of Fla. from what I've heard. I think I read something that "they" are trying to get rid of them. We have all kinds of things living around here that are not native. It is now somewhat common to catch a peacock bass that is native to S. America. I few yeas ago I actually caught a python. There even now S.E Asian Lizards, they have cat looking eyes and are around the lights looking for bugs at night.

I understand. We need to repaint the kitchen and baths, but I know what will happen.... so I put it off.

Have not been around to much lately ....was told a few weeks ago what I had suspected the past few months....I have colon cancer and go in for surgery Friday morn. Its a very small area (8cm) was told since it was caught early I should not have any problems....The surgery is not worrying me as much as the chemo that will start in a few weeks. I guess it does pay to have the colonoscopy done.
