Love those shoes, Judy. Either would be stunning! Glad you had a nice time at the shindig.

We had another earthquake today - felt stronger than the others, and sure enough, it registered a 4.8 on one report and 4.5 on the other. Almost scary, that one was. The chimes on the grandfather clock started clanging and things on the shelves rattled. So strange to be getting these. A few years ago we never had any, and now we get several per month, though most are too weak to notice.

I think there are more of them working in the area than there used to be, Wes. They're trying to find out why the heck we're having them, and whether they're an indication that The Big One might be coming.

Ty for all the compliments. :-)

Lisa, with all these little earthquakes going on..are they being added up? I would imagine the scientists being all over this. Do you and your family have an emergency plan should you have to evacuate very quickly?

Emergency plan... go out and stand in the yard, I guess! And maybe I'd grab a piece or two of my Roseville pottery on the way out.

Seriously, it worries me to be living in an old house... the old plaster walls are prone to cracking. There's a crack in the bathroom ceiling that I has grown a lot in the past couple year.

Nice shoes and a great watch Judy

I had my first shift in the restaurant yesterday, I'm a waiter/bartender and I really like it and it went very well for the first time.

Very glad to know that my friend! Was it a rough shift? How's the clientele?

Lisa,
Is any of the ice melting up your way? I'm thinking schools may close again tomorrow...
Almost all of the trades people that are working in my house, electricians, tile, a guy that is going to replace my vent hood, painter...all drive from OKC. Needless to say, weather is slowing down remodel progress. sigh.
Glad the earthquake wasn't too bad...I hear OSU scored a touchdown while it was happening. lol

Lots of nice people, just regular folks
The shift wasn't rough, I worked from 6pm to 10.20pm and after that we all drank a few beers and relaxed.
It's a great place.

Nice one Bas, I worked in my local pub when about 20, when home from Uni. My 3rd night was a Sat, there was 1-2 off sick, and I had to run the bar on my own, manager had to do food. And it was busy, manic. Anyway was good times, lots of my friends used to come in and could have a few drinks at the end.

Not too much melting, D. It's too cloudy and cold. The main streets are good but neighborhood streets aren't. The public schools may stay closed because they can't safely run the buses. I'm sure we'll be open, though, since we don't have bus service.

That's kind of frustrating to have your house messed up and no progress... hope things can get done this week. And yes, I heard about the score happening right in the middle of the earthquake - though I heard it was a field goal. Either way, that's pretty crazy. Wonder if people in the stadium could feel it?

Sounds like a great job, Bas. Around here, wait staff are paid very little per hour and rely on tips for most of their wages. Is the situation similar where you work? I'm just curious.

Oh, maybe it was a field goal? I wasn't watching the game and heard the story second hand...I must not have been paying attention.
My friends were there (crazy, it was SO cold) and she didn't mention being able to feel it...although when I talked to her, I hadn't yet heard about the quake and didn't ask her about it.

School is closed again for us tomorrow. I've had about all of this 'snowed in' stuff for awhile. I'm really not complaining...we have had electricity the whole time, so being snowed in has been quite comfortable. Many, many people were without it. :(

Sorry to hear Wes… have you tried reading a boring book? Soft music? Drugs? Warm milk? Counting sheep? Herbal tea? Herbal supplements? Personally I bypass everything and go right for the drugs.

Judy, you left out alcohol - unless it's under the "drugs" category.

I'm thinking about a wee glass of red wine that my sis brought over on Thanksgiving.... be right back.

Lisa! I did forget alcohol… I don't have any here and I don't like my fathers home made wine. Bleh! So I'll rely on my trusty sleeping pill. Enjoy your vino.

Well I made myself a cup of tea, the caffeine isn't gonna help, but I just fancied one Luckily I haven't got to be in work tomorrow.

I know this sounds very shallow, and there is much more important things in life, but thinking about this new car a lot, hopefully gonna view one this week, and is a lot of money for me, so can't work out if I'm excited or worried. Hey you asked. Anyway it's not that unusual that I can't sleep anyway.

You have mentioned some bouts with insomnia before... maybe you're excited AND worried. Hey, you only live once. You don't have to answer to anyone but Wes. Sounds like a perfect time to indulge yourself with a new car.

Wes…Im afraid you're going to have to stick with the list I gave you or alcohol. LOL At 4:50am, you don't have many options! Is there anything else that relaxes you? Bubble bath maybe?

Perhaps the stress of a new car and wondering if you're making the right choice is weighing on your mind. Thats where alcohol might numb those thoughts..LOL

Thanks Lisa, guess with my shift work my body clock is a bit messed up, long 12 hour days, then days off, and normally sleep in a bit. Then I have to get up early for work.

Last week I got called out for work at 3am and had to go into London. Not really complaining as it's a good job. Guess your Dave might have a similar thing with his job.

24 yrs of shift work for me landed me with an Imovane prescription a couple yrs ago. I wasn't sleeping at all..was affecting my stress level, plus I was going through my separation. If you have insomnia often, perhaps you can see your doc and get a prescription for something to take for a night like tonight. You don't have to take these pills every night..just as needed. A thought anyway…

Greg, your up late. You feeling ok? Healing well?
