Waiting list closed until further notice - expected to reopen sometime in 2023 but existing orders are still delayed so don't hold your breath......!!

I was wondering if any 38mm Antarctique S have been delivered to customers yet? I haven't seen any online, so I assume not.

We shipped some Frozen Star with the osmium dial, but no regular dials yet, at least not to America.

I wonder if you can feel the weight of the Osmium dial. Definitely a cool piece

Thanks for letting us know Mike. And I can imagine the Frozen Star getting priority

Guys I was told by some US ADs that they can still take my deposit and order. Is that true? As per the Czapek website, orderbook will be re-opened only during Watch and Wonders. I'm confused.

AD is czapek customer. They are waiting for their watch. AD may not have end user to actually reserve the watch yet.

I don't know how this plays in exactly, but I know there have also probably been quite a few cancellations between the economic climate and the production delays.

Those of you with orders in for the Glacier Blue dial Antarctique… which extra strap option did you choose?

Black rubber for me - wonder if I can change it at time of final payment?

When I placed my order through an AD they assured me they would confirm all of my original choices including strap before actual production. I picked blue rubber at the time. I’m wondering if white rubber might be a good look.

The extra strap is not accompanying new watch deliveries due to supply issues with the end links. I’m pretty sure you could change your order if you want to.

By the time a lot of us are due to receive our watch, this could very well be worked out . But yes, I remember when ordering that there was plenty of time prior to “delivery date” to change your mind about things.

That's what I thought too. So they just want to take my deposit first right?

That's possible too, thought that's not what my AD is telling me explicitely. How many of you ordered via AD vs. via Czapek website?

Hi Jason, I left you a message, didn't realize you were in Shanghai.

No one, not retailer nor end user, can place an order with Czapek for an Antarctique today.

We have said that the order books will open around Watches and Wonders, which is only two months away.

Before the books closed after W&W22, the retailers were offered to place an order for their stock (within reason, a few pieces perhaps).

So, it's possible that they're still selling that product (which is not yet delivered), or perhaps they had a cancellation, or perhaps they're selling you a slot from their upcoming orders when the W&W23 book opens.

Our plan still is to deliver orders from 2022 in 2023, and 2023 orders in 2024.

Hope this clarifies things a bit.

Mike, is there any hesitation about reopening the order books this Watches and Wonders given the delays on the existing order book? Or is the plan still to re-open orders?

Thanks that makes a lot of sense! I'll wait for W&W22 and order myself then!

I guess the key is "around" W&W. How much leeway does "around" mean?

Also, I guess it's not a promise, just a projection. If the lead time is 52-weeks, then Czapek would need to book customer orders this year for 2024 business.

I just got a polite email from Czapek that my Feb 2022 Ice blue due for build Jan 23 will be delayed "for hopefully just a few months". At least the communication is good and honest. I think most customers will understand the reasons for the delays and be cool (albeit slightly disappointed) about it.

That’s nice of them to be proactively reaching out. I’ve found them to be very responsive and helpful when you reach out with inquiries, but perhaps they just don’t have a large enough team to be proactive all the time.

My honest guess is that it will rain or maybe even poor cancellations when it turns out the big boy (in terms of numbers) Glacier Blue Antarctique will be delayed by 'hopefully months'.

The genie left the bottle.

Or am I wrong? Seems like they bit of way more than they could chew.

Cheers

I think they made it clear pretty early on that they were experiencing significant delays.

Those that wanted to cancel, probably already did (months ago).

The early secondary prices seen by speculators probably won't be realized again, but these watches are not made in extremely large quantities relatively speaking and I don't think they will have trouble filling order books for the foreseeable future.

Also, the delays come as a benefit to some as they have been making significant improvements to the bracelet and movement.
