49 years young, banker specializing in government capital raising (in US). Just bought my first Rolex, a pre-owned SS Daytona.

I finally got to point all responsibilities are taken care of and now I can enjoy the better things in life, I am still somewhat cheap so couldn't buy new:) Also, I look at purchases like this as heirloom items.

BTW - I am surprised how many young Rolex wearers there are on this site. Truth be told, I never even thought of buying a watch this expensive until this year to commemorate milestone in career. I doubt it will be my last though, I already am looking at one for wife Christmas present.

Chuck

Chuck,

You're not cheap, you're wise. Buy new, wear it 6 months and it'll look just like one you bought for thousands less.

As for the "many young Rolex wearers there are on this site" keep in mind that anyone can say anything on these forums. Take it all with a grain of salt.

Enjoy your Daytona.

Hi all - I'm a 44 year old European Sales Director for a luxury brand and I have a small collection of watches which are a passion of mine.

My only Rolex is a mid-1980s Submariner w/ no-date.

I also own many other watches including a Doxa, several Invictas including a Russian Dive Watch replica, and a hand-crafted Tourbillon picked up on a trip thru Zurich.

Occupation is Engineering Manager.
