My bday is coming up and I decided I wanted a super nice Amethyst, and not the standard commercial stuff at the mall either. They are pretty inexpensive gems but the one I bought was a bit pricey cause of the cut and the gem quality. Im reusing my old e-ring and needed the 8.8 mm diameter or I would have gone bigger. LOL It will be a pretty nice ring. :-) I have no issues re-using the stuff I picked out. Here is a pic of the gem...I hope its not too big..again, cropping and resizing are not my strong points. LOL
ahhh..didnt post. I'll keep trying. :-( |

I like you, too! I hope you can get that amethyst pic to post - they're such a pretty stone. Would love to see it. I tried on a vintage amethyst ring last year and was verrry tempted... it's still for sale in the guy's shop. I'll try to find a pic for you.

I want to reuse my wedding band too...too nice to sit in the bank vault. Was thinking of a 3 band ring for my right hand just haven't figured out if I want 3 diamond bands or 2 rose gold ones to sandwich the eternity. SO MANY CHOICES! But...I can't go wrong with any of them.
FYI...Ross Simons...has twisted gold bands for really cheap....they are 3mm wide. I might be able to get away with 2 of them since my band is only 2mm wide. Normally I don't buy from them but these bands are a great price for gold. You have to put twisted gold in the search box to find them. I tried cutting and pasting from iPhoto but my full name came up. Sorry! Go to his site...you will drool...I assure you. LOL |

That's a good predicament to be in - so many choices, and all of them good. I like the rose gold idea... always been a fan of that warm glow.
I looked at that gemstone site you mentioned a while back and found some droolworthy emeralds. But I need to wait.... don't even have my "beginner emerald" ring yet. |

I love the colour green but Im not a fan of emeralds. Too many issues with them and most of the ones you see at the jewellery stores are lab created so they look awesome. Look at Tsavorites, Tourmelines. No need to have a "starter" gem. LOL I love gems/jewelery of all kinds..mostly diamonds, which is NOT a good thing. I will have quite a collection to pass on when Im dead and GONE. LOL Until the "gone" part, no one gets anything.
Love that ring Lisa...very nice...I like the sidetones are amethyst too. :-) |

Annette Gabbedey may have been born without fingers, but that hasn't stopped her from becoming one of Britain's most talented jewellers and goldsmiths.
Google her...just in the news today.. So inspiring... |

Geez, you ladies are easily confused...
And of course, Lisa, it's always about you! Very pretty indeed! Congratulations!

I didn't buy that ring... but I'd like to! It sits in the case at the vintage jewelry shop and beckons me to take it home. |

I don't remember much about it, but I do know my sister got sent home from school for wearing her brown and white paisley bell bottoms because they were made of denim, and jeans weren't allowed in school.
Phoebe wants some patches sewn on... time to get out the old needle and thread. |

Greg, I remember that the kids in school used to recycle their old jeans by making them into tote bags and skirts. I always wanted one!

I was too young in the 70s to pick out what I wanted to wear. It was more like.."this is what I pulled out for you to wear and you're going to wear it" kind of dictatorship run household. LOL My mother wasn't one to let me have a choice. LOL

The 70's, uh? I listen to music from that era but can't say I've really lived the experience...

Do any of you have a fax in your home? I do, with a dedicated number. It's amazing the amount of junk that comes in a day.

No fax at home. We get a ton of crap at work though. And have a garbage can right beside it for shredding. Terrible waste of ink. |
