I hear people say that about the fax but I use it often. I still haven't figured out how to send a piece of paper over the computer yet, probably never will. I get asked from time to time though, I just tell them I'll fax it.

I don't send many but we still get a LOT of incoming faxes....which I actually prefer to having to open an email attachment and print them out myself. I can just have them waiting for me at my desk.

Art, Phoebe likes your new avatar. We found her a mohair blend sweater on Ebay... should be arriving any day. The color's close - probably not green enough but she was happy with the pictures of it.

I want one too. Although it wouldn't get much use. I'd love to see a pic once you get it.

What gets me today is you see teenage guys with "colored" hair....we would have got laughed out of high school for something like that

Those are fun jeans. Gives me some ideas for repairing Phoebe's jeans!

Yes, I don't remember anybody having colored hair, either - not even the girls.

That's funny, I got into tattoos, piercings and quite a lot of body modifications but for some reason I never really considered dying my hair. I think it can look quite nice on some people but it doesn't sound right for my head and hair...

...Someday perhaps, if I ever get said tattoos and piercings.

I don't know anybody my age with any tattoos, piercing etc....I have enough pain everyday without paying for it. I take that back ....one has a small tattoo of the Navy carrier he was on and was the weapons eng on a Tomcat ....he was a dashing short that women swoon over and looked a younger David Bowie....he used it as a "break the ice conversation piece"

Surprisingly I've seen quite a few tattoos on people who were much older than me, I guess there's no age to start liking them...

I wonder what the millions of tattooed kids will think 40 years from now... but meh, what's a few saggy tattoos when the aging body has to suffer so many other indignities....

What ideas do you have for Tattoo's???
As for body modifications I have 7 piercings in my left ear...and that's where it stops.....

Greg, maybe Tattoos are demographic... cause many older people(such as ourselves)have them here in the Chicago Metro area!!!

Funny you should mention that Judy, Peter (padi56) is more than 70 years old and his tattoos still look great as far as I'm concerned. I guess it depends on your skin...

Leo, I have a few ideas such as a large back one, one on one of my legs and perhaps sleeves but right now I'm not thinking about having some. Since it's a permanent thing I'm giving myself quite a few years to think about it. Besides, my body isn't ready for those yet.

Will do Judy, just glad I didn't need anything done, can be so expensive. Knew I should of been a Dentist.

Although he did want to do a teeth whitening treatment, for £550. Er.. I said I will just stick with my yellow ones.

Wes, can't you get the do-it-yourself whitening kits at the drugstore? I've used them with good results.

Not sure what that product is, looks like bleach

I dunno Lisa, have heard people say them kits don't work or can cause sensitivity. I have noticed you have a lovely set of white gnashers. If it ain't broke, don't fix it, is my motto.

Lisa...too funny!

I want to whiten my teeth too Wes and heard the same thing. I don't know if laser is the way to go. I don't know if you have those Crest whitening strips over in the UK or not, but they work pretty good for a quick, short fix.

Allrightie...Im out ...have a good day all.. :-)

Carl, thought you might like to know - the grandfather clock guy was here this morning, and he decided to take the movement from the clock and watch it run in the shop for a while. So, apparently something is wrong with the movement, and it's not likely that I did anything to cause it. His method of diagnosis is interesting - he would just stand on a step stool with his ear to the movement, and listen for several minutes. He said 15 seconds out of every 60 seem "weak, like she's struggling to keep ticking."

It was sort of like being in a hospital daytime drama series...

"Doctor, is it serious?" she said, her eyes wide with worry. "I never should have let her suffer for so long!"

"Well, I can't say for sure. Let's keep her under observation for a few days," said Dr. Ticker. He closed the door to the emergency vehicle and gave her a nod. "We'll be in touch."

She watched the van drive slowly away through the morning mist, then turned and slowly ascended the steps and walked into the empty house...
