Looks great... but I am going to have to look at this in-person and on my wrist before I upgrade my older Expy II.

Well I think I will get a white explorer II when they become available. Always liked it but wanted a new style clasp. Wished I would have seen the photos before the bandwidth was exceeded. If anyone downloaded the photos please PM me for my email address.

Basel '11 Explorer II, Availability?
Did anyone hear what the expected delivery date and availability of the Basel '11 Explorer II, will be? Will probably see them at the Rolex Boutiques, first?
Any guesses which version will be more or less available, the white or the black? I imagine it will be a long time before any of these are available on the grey market. |

Will be interesting to see what the black-and-WG hands on the black-dial version look like in the flesh. Maybe they would have looked better in black and white (rather than WG) like on the 1655 but that remains to be seen.

For a crowd that panned a small detail like the hands on the 39mm Explorer, I am surprised more people are not calling out the fact that the bracelet now looks comically skinny on a 42mm watch....fatal flaw IMO.
Take a look at this photo from worldtempus.com and share what you think. http://www.worldtempus.com/uploads/R...SC2335.jpg.jpg |

Of course one needs to see it live, but just from looking at those pictures - yes, I could definitely see me buying either of these 2 models.
Good job, Rolex! Cheers, Joe

Nice watch but I'm surprised they went with 42mm. Should have been 40mm. But it looks great!!!

WOW! i want one!!! I love both but can only have one of them.
I think I will go for the white one with those stunning black hands but I love the black one almost as much.

I agree. I think it will "wear" smaller than 42mm because of the break in color between the dial and the bezel. I'm looking forward to trying this one on then they show up.

The bracelet width to case size ratio looks pretty well balanced in the official pics |

Of course the image was no exactly straight dead-center on, and it was measurements on an image, which is not precise, but this is the best estimate I can come up with. approximately 49.1mm lug to lug. [[[EDIT]]] I just re-did the calc on another picture and got 50.0mm for the lug to lug. So I'm saying somewhere between 49 and 50mm lug to lug most likely. ~Ross
