My Breitling AD has a nice pre-owned Rolex section. When I stopped by last week he had a 5 SS digit Sub, 6 digit SS Sub, 5 digit Pepsi GMT, 6 digit TT Sub, 6 digit black bezel GMT and assorted others.

I was thinking, this thread was almost as exciting as the Daytona Giveaway thread...

Great thread! Thank you for sharing! It’s nice to see so many models on display, puts my local AD’s to shame.

When I visited the Rolex factory in 1983 I was given a a green vinyl notebook cover with a tearoff pad of paper inside. At the bottom of each page was printed "Men who guide the destinies of the world wear Rolex watches" in one of nine languages (and then repeated). I have never torn a sheet off that pad.

Drove all the way from Santa Monica to take a look at the DSSD exhibit. They were all very nice they had a DJ with the malachite dial which I have on order with my AD up here in LA. I would have bought the watch but they wouldn’t budge on he price and I’m not paying full retail on precious metal and if I do, it will be with m AD that I have relationship with. All in all it was a very nice visit. La Jolla is an incredible place. Had breakfast at the Fairmont resort and did some browsing at all the high end stores. |

Nice!
What's the overall thickness on the DS Challenge watch? It looks like a good 28~30mm. |

For some reason, I don't feel my GMT is that bulky on my wrist (~6.5-inches). It also looks like his is sized slightly loose, which may make it look chunky...? I found the Sub a bit bulkier than the GMT because of the height associated with the caseback. Still not bad, though. I guess it all depends on your wrist.

Congratulations Mark. I was also there over the weekend and it's really good to see Fourtane putting the exhibit in their store.

Congrats Mark. Welcome to the club!
Am happy my AD still doesn't remove the stickers. When I got my SD43 earlier this year........I went home, poured myself a nice glass of whiskey and took them all off myself. Not sure why I like to do it so much?

Fourteen AD about to open ... 10am today!
Thanks to everyone for the kind remarks and congratulations. I salute Fourtane for investing in the brand with San Diego’s first all Rolex Boutique. Further, the DSSD Challenge display is amazing, especially for me as their first customer and even more special since I bought the D-Blue, which is featured prominently in the display.
My daughter saw a picture of the watch and said it was her favorite Rolex of all time, which made me feel good. My wife has always loved this dial and the watch as a whole. She was happy for me. Wish she could have joined me for the experience. Below are our Rolex watches before the D-Blue. I was also very happy to people around me buying watches they desired. There was one man there with his wife and son - I asked what he was buying. Turned out to be a Submariner date. It was his first Rolex ever. What a feeling. He was so excited! His family was so happy for him. Just great to see. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
