(Some humor and levity... yet this idea would probably work)
I GOT IT! As you live in the USA so probably have watch insurance... have you ever desired visiting a club in Miami, LA, or even take a visit to London? Flash around the watch and let nature do it's course. Problem solved. Always happy to help :)

JR you're an affluent gentleman that obviously takes care of your valued possessions. That is something to be proud of.

I'm not going to read all 8 pages.. but rather, I'll just state the obvious:
The scratch looks to be mainly on the polished centre section. Why not just give a 5 second rub with a Cape Cod cloth and it'll vanish? The remaining 2mm of the scratch can be touched up with a touch up pen quicker than it took to write this. ..not that it would bother me, I wear my watch everywhere unprotected and I now collect scratches and it'll never be getting polished (rounded off) by RSC come service time either. The scratches are a history of my ownership. On the whole I can appreciate you are on honeymoon with your new watch. When this wears off you'll find you can get some real pleasure from wearing without all the cotton wool. |

And don't say a new watch, because that's simply unreasonable.

Could you remove the tape, spray little Windex on your clasp and clean it, then take new pictures. I think the tape magnifies the issues. They may be smudges rather than scratches.
