I love the new one. On the new steel ring + ceramic bezel, loving it, definitely a nod to the 6265!

I wondered if the ceramic insert is thinner on the new version now that it has a ring, while the older version was all ceramic bezel. I loved both old and new versions.

The Right Side lugs are bigger, now matching the Left Side lugs …

But, is it just me … or do the 12 Series left lugs look bigger than the 11 Series left side lugs ?

I wonder how this watch would have looked if Rolex had used the Right Side lugs from the 11 Series x 4, and used those on the 12 Series ?

More streamlined / less blocky, I’m thinking.

If you ever seen one in the wild you’ll never tell the difference to be honest. Don’t why they are trying ao hard to bring us a “new model”? Is the 60yrs and this is all they could do? Disappointing tbh.

They’re probably bigger since they now seem to be using the oysterflex case which was bigger all around including the crown guards.

Or the end links are different and now fit better

I want to see it measured properly, because it feels like it has a bigger dial, bigger bezel, bigger everything. This might really be a 40mm now.

Found this on IG, comparing the case size for the 11 vs 12. Case appears to be a tad bigger.

You don't have to be a scientist to notice that they now use one and only mold for the case shape, instead of 2 previously. How to match redesign with economies of scale? I think they master it.

If they're just taking images off the internet and doing a comparison, then that's not valid.

Ayyyyy DavidSW! It’ll be listed for $400,000 . After a few bumps it’ll be $30,000

Should there be a new nickname for the 126500 white dial.
Rather than Panda, maybe can be Zebra or White Tiger?
Just like Batman to Batgirl..

They're just comparing two images found on the internet. That's hardly an accurate way of really measuring it.

Again this is an evolution, not a revolution. The newer model looks a bit beefier, but at the end of the day should wear similarly.

every mm counts, but in this case the Daytona (1165xx) was not a true 40mm, but now it might be. Still not an oversized watch, so should be a non-issue.

Dial, particularly the black ring around the sub-dials, reminds me very much of my Zenith 16520 Daytona. I don’t think you’ll be able to tell much difference by looking at the watch on someone’s wrist from a short distance.

Both Daytonas are winners…. You can’t go wrong!

I don’t understand why Rolex is still stamping that text “phrase” on the dial! My gosh, the crown at 12 o’clock is jammed against it. Why Rolex why?

Is it confirmed the new Daytona has a 20mm bracelet? Might be the angle of the pic but the new Daytona looks wider at the lugs.

That could be the same difference between my 42mm Seamaster and 40mm Submariner. They look like the same general size in this picture, but when compared to the Sub, the Seamaster wears much larger on the wrist. A couple millimeters make a difference.

The slimmer sub dials and what appears to be thinner bezel make it look more refined to me
