The initial price is very high, I'm sure, but I'd imagine that once you have a last made for you, ordering a pair of bespoke shoes probably doesn't cost that much more than an MTO pair (assuming you don't request any sort of exotic leather, of course)...?

For John Lobb Paris I was quoted in Feb 2017 $7300 for the first pair for calf leather and a 2nd pair would be $6k. Second pair is still quite a bit more than a MTO shoe.

I know prices reset at least every January due to FX rate so I'd be interested to see what a new pair would cost come 2018 with the $ weakening.

I've only done dress shirts so far (still waiting on my John Lobb shoes). I used to wear the Brooks Brother non-iron slim fit and had about 25 shirts. Now I only have around 10 (in case I need to travel and don't want to iron any shirts) and wear my bespoke shirts most days.

I'm still looking to get into suits but haven't made the jump just yet.

Yikes! That's pricy.

Once you go bespoke, I wonder if there is much of a difference between JLP and JLB.

Those look fabulous Wes, congratulations. What colour polish will you use to keep that lovely antique look? Neutral perhaps?

Thanks, Dave! The marbling effect is added as a part of the dying process so it's not something that should come off.

Yep. Warwick derbies and Berkeley monkstraps on the back row. Front row is Vale, Archer (the Luffield replacement) and Pierre Corthay Vendome.

The new G&G boots arrived today. The deco last fits just like the MH71 last.

The invoice shipped with the box said 350 pounds, which is a tad cheaper than they actually cost. And means the missus thinks I haven’t been spending much on shoes lately. I feel some shoe shopping coming on.

I thought Urban Commando referred to the sole, but I guess it’s the name of this model.
