I always bought the Art Exhibit books and Monet I would say was always my favorite. We saw two shows on Monet through the years and the show highlighting his "Series" paintings was by far my favorite. I could and did lose track of time while walking through this Exhibit. By looking at a painting from 15 to 20 feet back and then walking up to the ropes in front of the painting you could see each brush stroke and the interplay of colors...absolutely amazing. And then the next painting was the same subject matter like the "Haystacks" but done at a different time of day so the colors were different but the same!!!

With my Grandparents living just a mile or less away from the Museums I use to go by myself as a teenager and spend the whole day at the Shedd Aquarium, Field Museum of Natural Studies, the Adler Planetarium and the Art Institute. I would eat lunch at fantastic restaurants and stop in at my Grandfather's Law Practice and have drinks with him and his partner in the late afternoon.....
Nice one Leo. I remember going to see Monet in the 20th Century, think it was in 1999. Because of the demand they had to open 24hrs, and me and my dad went to see it in the middle of the night. Think it had about 80 paintings, all done after he turned 60.

That is a lovely watch Wes, congratulations!

You might want to check this link: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tachymeter_(watch)
Thanks Bas, yeah think it is different to a Tachymeter that measures speed, such as the Daytona/Speedmaster. Probably not called a Tachymeter at all.

That's funny, I read that it was actually a myth. Not that it's really a problem to eat junk food occasionally but apparently there's no real advantage to eating it except for the good taste.

I've never read that but it could be a myth.
Well atleast it boosts your morale! I love some good old french fries with mayonaise.

French fries with mayonaise, what a classic side for a good greasy dish.

Speaking of mustard,

I bought this last night along with some nice sub buns and cold cuts. It was outstanding.

Chocolate on french fries!? Nah, I'm kidding. Now I get what you're saying. I can see mustard on fries. And mustard on fish makes sense - I grew up eating canned sardines in mustard sauce, and I still love a tin of smoked oysters with mustard to dip them in.

Now that's the stuff.

I like plain old cheap yellow mustard just as well, though!

I have always used yellow mustard too but this kind was on a sandwich I bought last week and it is wonderful, but yellow would be better on a hot dog. I've always used yellow mustard on hamburgers too, not ketchup. Oddly the only thing I will use ketchup for is fries. Nothing else.

I've always been one to put Heinz Catsup on fries...

Actually Lisa you are not too far off I had a friend growing up who's parents were from Switzerland and he would have chocolate sandwiches for lunch. And my Dad showed me how buttered bread and then adding peanut butter to make a sandwich was really tasty.....

I love to mix some mayo, a bit of mustard and some spices to eat with fish. It's always nice to come up with original dips.

My friend once told me that his father used to have quite the breakfast back in the days. He'd take a half baguette or sub bread, take the inside out, butter the inside, add peanut butter (a whole lot, as per my friend's story) and then fill it with honey...

Art, I also enjoy Gulden's mustard and many of the stone ground mustards. If you can find a mustard called Boetje's check it out as it's really good!!!

Wes, nice watch! Super sophisticated looking. I like the sundials too. Isn't that style called a pie pan style? I like the strap it comes with but I certainly could see the newer one on it too.

I had my shake and nothing more last night.

I used to put vinegar on my fries when I lived in NC. Those southerners sure had opinions about that. Bas..Ive seen some mix ketchup with mayonnaise here so you aren't all that strange. LOL A friend of mine, who coincidentally lives in NC but from Wisconsin originally, dips his fries in thousand island dressing. Ive never had mustard with my fries. Truthfully, as much as I love potatoes, I dont like them as french fries.

Carl, ya, its Whey protein I use & I mix it in unsweetened almond milk. Its an acquired taste. LOL I usually have one in the morning or I save it for after the gym.

Carl, I can see where that would taste good and right now I have some raw honey(about two pounds) that a friend gave me from his beehives last Fall.....

Also peanut butter and a good Swiss cheese on rye bread makes an excellent sandwich!!!

Acquired taste, uh?

I'm afraid I wouldn't know as I've never had any of those. I hear and read about many people who consume Whey protein, Creatine and many supplements but speaking for myself I'm more of a food guy. Don't know if and how avoiding them will affect gains but there's only one way to find out...

I love peanut butter...I love Swiss cheese...but for some reason I don't see myself mixing those two.

And that's funny because I can mix an awful lot of things together but there are some exceptions...

And now that the subject of nutrition and funny recipes is on, allow me to share my new breakfast experiment...

- 4 eggs
- 3/4 cup of Greek yogurt
- 2/3 cup of Oatmeal
- 1/2 cup of frozen berries
- 5 table spoons of syrup with no sugar added (sounds like it's a whole lot but that thing barely has any calories for those who would worry...)

Mix everything, put it in the microwave (it takes a long time to cook, I put mine in for almost six minutes) and you come up with some kind of a breakfast cake with a much richer and creamier (is that even a word? ) texture. I eat that with a banana and a 250ml of skim milk.

Judy, that's also an acquired taste in case you were wondering.
