Have fun Leo & Carl.

Carl, do you like to cook? if so, have you ever tried making a Dutch recipe?
We have a delicious dish called Hutspot, it's very easy to make and it's a typical Dutch winter dish.

http://www.food.com/recipe/hutspot-44572

We eat it with a smoked sausage (rookworst), but I'm not sure whether you can buy those in Canada or in the US.

Thank you Bas.

Indeed, I quite like to cook but I usually keep my main meals pretty simple and quick. I make sure I have everything in check but I don't cook like a chef everyday, I prefer to try fancier things with my girlfriend.

That Hutspot looks quite good, I'd love to try that one day (if I cannot find any rookworst I guess I could always go to the supermarket and find myself some nice sausages to go with it). Thank you for sharing.

I cook with my mom at wednesdays (I still gotta learn some things), but I'm going to live on my own when I'm going to watchmaking school at the end of August, so I'll have to cook everyday then

How did you cope with living on your own in the first months?

Actually it wasn't that bad. Mind you, I am going back to Montreal on the weekends and see my girlfriend, parents and friends on Saturday and Sunday but living alone, although it has its pros and cons, isn't that horrible.

I must admit that I have quite the routine and I got used to it though, I'm not the type to go out very often (especially not alone) and I cannot stand having dirty dishes in my sink so I wash it when I finish eating, thus going against the flow and being quite the opposite of the "young adult living on his own and never doing dishes" cliché...

Regarding laundry, I do it at my parents' or girlfriend's because I don't have a washing machine and dryer but it's something I've been doing on my own for several years now so it's nothing new to me. As for preparing meals, I have my diet planned and make my lunches on Saturday or Sunday at my parents' while my mother cooks her things for the week...it's a good way to prepare my things while enjoying some quality time with my mummy.

The only thing I like less at times is that although I'm not in another country living all alone an hour and a half away from all the people I know is quite the change. I obviously have a lot of ways to keep myself busy but sometimes the feeling of being alone does come up. That's why the weekends are even more enjoyable.

Hope ya'll have had a nice day. Not much romance going on around here, but plenty of love - the girls each got a big ol' box of mixed chocolates. This is particularly good because they usually give me most of the dark chocolate ones.

I'm sure I read somewhere that Scientists prove eating chocolate is 'better than being in love'

Love dark chocolate, it's really good with red wine. Just had some Godiva dark.

That number was randomly chosen Leo, I just thought 22 would be enough...do you recommend me to buy more?

Happy Valentines Everyone! ""kisses to everyone"" Um..let me clarify, its the Italian cheek to cheek kind. Im not a surgeon, Im not planning on performing a tonsillectomy.

Once again, there is a conversation about food.

I must be the only one who doesn't like dark chocolate. I like milk chocolate. Wes, Toblerone is an excellent choice.

Im waiting till tomorrow afternoon to celebrate my Valentines Day. Then I have my birthday party in the evening.
So hard to figure out what to bring for being away just one night. I can't seem to condense my overnight bag.

To me, Lay's chips are better when eaten plain...nachos, however...the more salsa and cheese, the better they are!
