It's 40 off msrp and below AD cost. I stand by my buy and that post.

I was just passing along his speculation. I am not a buyer for that particular gmt as I have a white gold meteorite and a stainless blro and blnr. I am hoping to see the solid YG blue dial sub(41mm) get to those prices though..

Sorry. I quoted the wrong guy. (You)

I agree with you, that mid 20 sound very low, and I don't think it will bad all that bad. I believe 25-30 % below mrsp is more realistic. But on the other hand would call it impossible either. But again what is..

Full set RG olive DD 2020 sitting at 46.8k

Definitely a recent low. No tested bottom…the decline still has a loooong way to go.

2020 BNIB this was a $35k watch. I believe by q2 23 it'll be as 35k watch again.

Agree. We are trending back to the 2019 trendline at best, or an overcorrection at worst.

“Worst” being for the charlatans and backpack flipper that tarnished this hobby. Good for true enthusiasts.

The last 2 years or so we're a unique and special circumstance that is unlikely to repeat, especially as so many are now getting burnt on watches, crypto etc etc. Which is good for us.

All history until then seems to have been forgotten. So many forget that it was almost always easy to get any regular watch in no time. So many people think the stupidity of the last 2 or so years is the norm, not the exception.

I think we rapidly will be back to normal. I bet before spring. The last gasp of Christmas saving the nonsense never happened.

I can't wait. I've been waiting for this for a few years as I refused to play the games. Now we can get what we want and the newcomers who ruined it all I hope burn with their over speculation.

Man, some of you are harsh wishing for people’s demise just so you can get a watch at retail. I get it I guess, but I’m the kind of person that doesn’t wish ill will on anyone. I believe in a thing called karma. You can hope for prices to get back to norm, but don’t wish anything bad on the backpack flipper. Just my 2 cents…

i think your concern for those backpack flippers who are losing money is misplaced. where was the concern for buyers who were offered watches
at 3x retail? if you believe in karma as you say, you are witnessing it loud and clear…

100% agree. Additionally, many of these guys preyed on uneducated folks with “to the moon”, “this is an investment piece” etc. no sympathy here. There are people with far more noble causes that need sympathy.

Hope they BK as well

100%.

I have no patience / remorse for backback flippers. Want to show off on Instagram, overleverage yourself trying to make a quick buck, now get burnt. Works for me.

They didn't have any issues making 3-50k per watch during the "good (read : crazy) times" and showing off like no one elses business. Now why would I care during the inevitable downfall?

In the UK certain AD is able to source two tone Explorer and DJ for walk-in customers. It seems that time is up for the back-pack grey market dealers.

Maybe the Mods donthink the $55k sale was an outlier, same platinum dd40 model was allowed to be posted at $65k today.

I think its safe to say all of us in the hobby were completely fine with modest gains over the long term on our pieces and negotiating a good percentage down from msrp without buying unwanted things.

No matter what, weak hands will fold and " we " will still be here, enjoying our watches and eyeing the next move.

Oh come on… I have zero sympathy for someone that hitched their wagon to something that anyone with any sense knew wasn’t going to last.

Also, none of these guys had any issue gouging collectors and spoiling the hobby.

Do you think any of these guys give a sh** about you or any other collectors? All they wanted to do was lease lambos, eat expensive dinners at Salt Bae’s place, and post all of it on insta and YouTube.

Good riddance to these guys.

I'm with you on this one. Some people in this thread can't fathom the idea of people taking advantages of markets. Can't knock the hustle.
