Supposed to be 3f in the morning, with below 0 wind chill. No school tomorrow; we had a few inches of pure sleet. Greg, i'd love your 30f about now!

This winter has been just horrid!

Ah.....y'all would be very miserable if you were living here this Winter. We received four more inches of snow from Saturday night into yesterday and the temperature was down around zero. I believe I'm on repeat mode but we are on track for the third worst Winter since they have been keeping records(since 1872). We have had approximately 70 inches of snow this Winter so far as compared to an average of 38 inches over the past decade or so.....

Saturday night the NHL Chicago Blackhawks played host to the Pittsburgh Penguins in a game played outdoors in Soldiers Field. The stadium is located right by the lake and in the first period it was snowing so hard that when someone hit the puck to pass it or attempt to score the puck would just die. They repeatedly had to take timeouts so the grounds crew could remove the snow. The best part for Chicago was we won the game 5-1.....

Leo, did you say you would move south when your wife retired? I don't know what you guys do in this kind of weather. I guess you have good snow removal crews, but that kind of cold... brrrr... I'd never leave the house all winter long!

Lisa, Yes we are thinking about moving further South once Pam retires. Not certain where yet but we both like Southwestern Missouri in the Ozarks so that is one possibility.....

But as we get older(we are both turning 60yrs. old this year)the cold weather is definitely getting to us and our creaky bones...especially me with the RA. When the outside temperatures get into the -20F range and colder it does not take very long before I begin to feel the affects of Frostbite seeping into my hands and feet.....I am very grateful for the invention of electric blankets for nighttime sleeping. We use to have a heated waterbed which was fantastic to have but Pam wanted to go back to a tradional bed so we did a few years back when we needed a new bed!!!

I remember seeing a guy on the history channel back last summer claiming due to low sun spot activity we are going into another mini ice age like 300 year ago. Looks like he might be right....they have another ice and snow warning for tonight for south TX and I was reading if it does snow it would be the first time in history it snowed in Houston area in March. The official last snow was Feb 22 1973 for the last snow fall this late in the winter.

I really hope that guy with the sun spot theory is not right. I hate the cold, I really really do. I am frozen. We just got another 8 inches dumped on us today and it isn't finished yet. Mother nature is drunk. I wonder if she got tired of the sexist jokes on this forum :-)

So today I'm changing some of the text on my website, and testing some analytics. I have a job interview tomorrow, but doubtful that I'm going to be able to get there if the roads aren't clear. The local areas have run out of funding for snow removal, so I'm not sure what they're going to do. I'm doing a lot of thought about marketing. Not going to give up yet :-)

I hear you, Mikki. Cold weather, day in and day out, just depresses me. The sun is out now and I've been outside shoveling packed sleet (pretty badass, yes?) so I got some Vitamin D and a workout... feel a little better and this cocoa is tasting pretty nice.

What is your website about? And I hope the roads cooperate for your interview tomorrow.

For the Boston area this has been a typical winter, snow slightly above normal, but much colder and colder for longer stretches then I can remember. The one thing I always point to where climate is concerned is when I was a kid in the 70's lakes and ponds here would freeze over regularly and kids would skate. That doesn't happen much here anymore except for this year, it has been a winter wonderland. Play habits of kids do change but if a lake aint frozen then kids can't go out on it. If we are going into a mini ice-age then hockey equipment suppliers are going to love this part of the country again...

Marc, I do remember some childhood snows that would cause drifts several feet high... so I guess this winter is nothing particularly new... I tend to have a short memory because we had a hard winter two or three years ago, too. But last winter was so mild by comparison. Even in January and February, I could take the Falcon out nearly every week. I think I was expecting another one of those kinds of winters.

I'm just getting too old for this nasty cold business, you know?

Hey you should all move to England. I remember complaining about the long summer we had last year, too hot for me. And we have had one of the mildest winters I've known, no freezing temperatures. No snow at all down south, which is very strange. But we have had storms and rain, we have had the wettest January on record, a lot of flooding and damage. There's a storm coming Mr Wayne.

South Mountain in Phx would get some snow almost ever 2-3 winters now it happens about every 10-12 years. Its about 3k range just south of Downtown ....you can drive to the top at look over Phx

You have a gorgeous head of hair, Art. Can I have some?

You have me wondering - with the Catholic high school make Phoebe color her purple hair back to brown next year?

PS - did you shave today?

Yep Art has great hair. He could do a shampoo advert, because I'm worth it.

Next time I get it cut I'll send it your way.

My guess is no purple hair.

I shave once a week Lisa, that's all, usually Sat eve or Sun morn. And if I have to go somewhere on day 6, that's how I go.

Hi, guys. I told a friend I'd try to find out more about this Patek watch. Anyone know anything? I've also put the pic in the Patek forum.
