Hi Coffeeshoppers, hope everyone is enjoying/having nice weather.

Leo, we don't need encouragement to buy more watches.

Art, where in Europe did your family go?

Too slowly, Bas. The shop is closed this week so the owner can go on vacation. So far, they've got a few pieces of chrome off and that's it. It's only been two weeks but I thought more would have happened.

Hmm, not so good.

Is there a special deadline/occasion when you would like to have the car finished?

Boy they have some nerve taking a week of vacation after you dropped off your new baby to them to be overhauled, pampered and brought to a working order and new life!!!

Sounds like the beginning of a new "Soap Opera" and adventure...good luck to you and Dave.......remember patience

I'm sure they had the vacation planned long before I contacted them about fixing up the car - and it is the Fourth of July week. I just see this as a little bit of a reason to watch very closely, and request a written schedule if necessary.

Oh I will!

I got a list of all the tools/books and stuff I need to order, being financially independent is suddenly not so fun anymore. It's about the same price as a new Omega Seamaster... Oh well

Bas, as they say, "where there is a will there is a way," I'm sure you will be able to work out all the expenses and needs associated with obtaining your desired goal!!!

Definitely, but sometimes all these things just come all together which makes it hard to swallow!

Le bore de France went through my neighbourhood today, I know I don't live in France, it started in the UK this year. Well it was a lot of waiting about for 10 seconds of action, think it's better to watch on TV.

Lots of sponsors cars

We had a typical British downpour, nephews had tour umbrella's

Wes, you may not like or enjoy the Tour De France(especially tying up traffic and such for a day)but I do...but I do agree with you that since it only lasts for ten to twenty seconds before they pass by I too would prefer to watch it on TV. This way I get the best seat for watching the "Tour." But still.....I would like to be a part of it for one day just to say I experienced it first hand.....

You must understand here in the "States" most people had never heard much about it until Greg LeMond entered the picture back in the late 1980's. And then.....you were lucky if you could see five minutes of coverage(as an after thought)on a Saturday or Sunday afternoon on a show that summarized sporting events of the week(and most of that five minutes was set aside for commercial breaks/endorsements)!!!

I was one of the very few that knew about this "Sport" and it was frustrating not seeing very much coverage on the event. Then Lance came along and brought the sport into mainstream coverage and of course we all know how that turned out!!!

No Leo, I do like the tour, it's an amazing event, maybe I was expecting something a bit more exciting. Better watched on TV. Luckily my parents house was about 50m from the spot we watched, so could pop in to get supplies.

Wes, my mistake and I apologize to you as I misunderstood your comment.....but can understand how you must feel as there is so much hype leading up to this World Class Event(the most famous bicycling race for over a century). Then in just seconds they have come and gone especially when you have waited for hours by the roadside waiting for the Peloton and any break away riders or groups to come riding by.

And this is the first time, I believe, they have started the race in Great Britain followed by two more Stages in the British countryside before flying back over to France for tomorrow's Stage 4 Start. I know in the past they have had Stages which were raced outside of France but I do not know if it has been more than One Day's Stage!!!

94(stage 4,5) and 2007(stage 1,2), both times there was a couple of stages in the UK. (I just had to google that)

This year I'm cheering for Chris Froome again, he won last year, and Bradley Wiggins won in 2012. Before that, no one from the UK had never won the event, so we are on a roll.

Good Bas, think we have got your bad weather now, it's been quite nice upto today.

Just stuck at boring work, when I really want to be out on the golf course.
