Lisa, it has almost been two weeks since the fourth, did they make some progress on the car?

Hello, Bas! Yes, they have. I was relieved to see a good amount of progress made when I came by today. Take a look!

A new floor pan has been ordered. Parts are being taken off, labeled and assessed (repair or replace). Bodywork has begun, and it looks like nearly all of it is salvageable. The shop owner can fabricate new rocker panels, and he will patch the wheel well areas. An engine guy will be coming soon to evaluate the old straight six motor; it runs, but may have a cracked block (which might be my excuse to consider a V8). I volunteered to coordinate the interior work, and will be meeting with that guy asap and bringing the seats and door panels to his shop. I've already found the factory correct vinyl and fabric.

Hi, Heru. We bought the car in poor condition (though it still runs!) and we are getting it restored professionally. We don't have the know-how or the equipment to do much of it ourselves. The car belonged to a friend. It's a 1959 Chevrolet Kingswood 9-passenger wagon. I still have the old Ford Falcon, too!

Yes, indeedy, Ed. I've got a source for those vintage tires, too. I think they need big whitewalls to keep that old-school look.

You're not gonna steal the tires off that beauty, are you, Lisa?

Hi Lisa, glad to hear the restoration is making progress. Strange to see that last one you pictured has no rear doors. I see your one does though.

Good evening everybody!

I'm quite busy at work and with other hobbies but it was the very I could do to log in and thank you (once again) for your birthday wishes in that other thread. I appreciate it guys.

Seems like we have quite a lot of things to talk about now! Lisa's soon-to-be-new-car, Ed's comeback, Heru's visit, the passing of Johnny Winter (I still can't believe it...)! I hope everybody is doing well, have a great morning/day/evening everyone.

Hi Carl hope you are doing well, and your job is all good. Have you designed and built me that minute repeater you promised me, that chimes smoke on the water, yet?

I suppose you have central AC in your home?

I personally don't mind hot weather when I'm outside (I do prefer autumn and winter though), however when it's 80-90F and one doesn't have AC it can be quite a task to fall asleep at night

Doing okay this Summer but have not been able to get out much into the Gardens...as my RA continues to cause me much discomfort and pain. But on the bright side and current horizon...NFL Football Camps open this week!!!

Guess that means the football season starts soon. Guessing you support the Chicago Bears? Our soccer season starts soon also.

Off to hit some golf balls now.

Oh here's a pic of my car for ya.

Um, ok I suppose. Short game has improved a little, but ball striking is still very suspect. My golf teacher went to watch the British Open, and is now away on holiday. Could do with more lessons.

Need to play some more full rounds to see if my scoring is coming down, and am playing with a mate tomorrow night.

Good morning Coffeeshop,

Last vacation day today, it was very enjoyable (although a tad short, I had one week) and I kept myself busy enough not to waste it but, alas, tomorrow I'm back to work...

I hope you're all enjoying your Summer, have a great day.
