This one is SO cute. It's a dog competition in Finland. The premise is that the dogs were to go to straight to their owners without being tempted by the toys & treats on the sidelines. The 1st 2 dogs did a great job but the 3rd one, not so much. Cute & funny though.

Also to post an update on this GD hand. I had the cast removed on Thursday. Boy is it ever painful! My left bicep hurts like hell too. Not sure if refractory pain or what. The hand is better than it was Thursday when it came off. Also disappointing to know that the surgeon wanted me to follow up on Jan. 8th! I saw physio yesterday & she made me go to the clinic & change my appt to Dec. 18th. She said was ridiculous that I've been going to clinic all this time & still a possibility of surgery in the new year. I should know NOW. Its been 6 mths! I'm exhausted with this hand shite & I want to move on with living. So..I was able to change my appt from Jan 8th to Dec 18th. Lets see what the surgeon thinks. THIS saga continues...
I'm happy that Friday I get to spend the day with my almost 3 yr old niece (going on 10!!) at the mall shopping, just her & I. She is such a trip! I love those kids to death. We're having a movie night Friday night ( I'm sleeping over & got them new pjs for the event) & I'm bringing them to my annual Gingerbread Decorating event with my girlfriends & their kids this Saturday. Then I get to babysit while their parents act like adults with no kids & attend a Christmas party. LOL I don't mind. I love it. They keep me young at heart. It's funny when people think they are my kids. I'm too old! I still love it though!! |

Wes, looks like I'm celebrating tomorrow night myself. I'm staying overnight at my brothers & he informed me that there was a bottle of wine with my name on it all to myself. LOL Funny.. I told him I already did that this week. He reminded me that all the BS I went through the last 3 yrs deserves a few bottles not just 1. LOL I'm predicting I'll be sleeping pretty soundly tomorrow night. And sleeping over again Saturday night as they are going out. So, I see where he says its a 2 bottle weekend. hahaha

Judy, I know I'm way late to your "Special Occasion" and party...but I'm glad to hear you can now close out that chapter in your life.....and move on to find your happiness, peace and serenity!!! As for your muscles aching in that arm how about some "Good Physical Therapy" for your bicep.....do shots and curls at the same time.....Fill shot glass and do a curl to your lips and then 'down the hatch'...and then repeat!!! I'm glad to hear how much of a fun "Aunt" you can be for your niece and nephew...they are very lucky to have an Aunt that spoils them rotten. You have a very good heart and a giving nature(you did hear the one of how the 'Aunt" was in charge of naming the newborns at the hospital after birth.....she named them them "deniece and Denephew"!!! Take care and party hearty this "Holiday Season".......as you surely have earned your freedom!!!

Girls Coffeeshop Talk
Divorce. It's pretty serious stuff. It just hit my home with my wife's sister, who's husband cheated on her. She recently moved in with us and is starting over. She moved from Missouri with her animals and a nursing license, so she'll be fine.
But just watching her sell her home literally "on line" went relatively okay - she barely sold the property before the really bad weather hit. So, now she's waiting for her nursing license from California to kick in... Her animals and mine integrated well... Electronic post generated by human via apple interface...

Thanks guys. :-)
Leo...those are very kind words. I appreciate them very much. Those 2 kids mean the world to me. I do spoil them a bit much but I'm also present physically as well. Thank goodness they are good kids. Apart from being typical for 5 or 3 yr olds..they don't curse, kick, spit or do anything like that. Really very sweet kids. I make sure I just don't see or call them once a week & be done with it. I enjoy taking them out & spending time with them. Oh my..some days its trying! But I still don't want to give any of moments up. They'll be grown up soon enough. The last person they will want to hang with is their aunt. LOL My brother said to me on Sunday that I'm a huge influence on the kids, that they ask for me all the time. Feels SO awesome. :-) Randy, divorce isn't a light thing but after 3 yrs, oh boy! Was a surreal moment I had Tuesday when I realized that as of that day...it was over. Seriously a wonderful moment. :-D I hope your sister in law comes out of her mess in a positive light too. My goodness..lots of dogs & cat under one roof! They all seem to get along..LOL Greg..was another Greg..but you go ahead & have a few for me ok. LOL ;-) Bas..SO funny. I laugh because people ask me all the time to translate from Italian to English. A lot of times the phrases don't make any sense. I always say the meaning gets lost in translation. Seems to be the way I think. ;-) |

Wes, I came across the thread about your trip to the museum to look at the dinosaur exhibit. Did you go with your nephew? Is he too old for that Zoomer the Dino robot? I'm not sure what to get my nephew, that or MiP. I think the reviews on You Tube were better for MiP. I think a 5 yr old boy would love to have one. I guess I can always get the purple dino for my niece. Bingo..done. LMAO I know my brother & sister in law don't like toys that make noise. Oh well..I don't live there. Bahahhaahahaha
ETA... I forgot about Zooomer Puppies...guess thats what my niece is getting. LOL |

Not overly keen on toys with batteries, my brother can't even figure out how to put batteries in the right way round. but suppose it doesn't matter as they break everything anyway. I did buy them a lovely old school fire engine they sit on and push, made of metal, really robust. One of my mates had one, and after a couple years still look like new. But the boys wrecked it in a few months. Was left in the garden faded from the sun with a broken axle Just ordered my mum some ugg boots, brought her a pair about 5 years ago that she wore to death. So not much more to get. |

Wes, Fun! Seems like you have your shopping wrapped up. :-) I got my nephew some HEX Bugs last year with the plastic tubes they need to set up. Both my niece & nephew play with them still a year later. They're a bit rough on their things but most of their toys are still intact. Does your nephew like stars? I thought about a telescope but then he wont be using it much in the winter here. I think I'll wait & give it to him after he's passed his school year. At least he can enjoy it during the warmer months. There's a few books on Astrology for children too. Might be something your brother can do with the kids too, or you of course. It's hard work being the cool uncle isn't it? LOL
I'm also getting the kids some useful stuff like clothes, new goose down duvets & covers for both of them, & new lamps for their rooms. Pottery Barn Kids has a Headlight lamp I think would be great for my nephew. Lamps are pricey. :-/ Boring stuff & I can hardly wait to see their faces when they open their packages. LMAO They always have that look of confusion like.."wheres the toys" kinda thing. I have to have my camera ready. OMG..is so funny. I'll put my parents name on the toys so they think they got cool stuff from their grandparents. haha For my brother & sister in law I'm most likely getting them a laptop since the one they have is on the fritz. No clue what to get my parents. Their 50th anniversary is Dec.12th & then Christmas around the corner. They don't need or want anything. A family dinner is always on the agenda but stumped for anything else. Probably pick up some clothes for them. Not sure what else. I'll think of something. My brother asked me what I want, I said nothing. I'm not easy to buy for, everything I like is too expensive. LOL I do need the final season of True Blood so that's easy. I just bought new slippers I should just tell my brother to wrap them up. LOL The kids will think they bought me slippers. hahahaha One year we bought my father a few shirts for his birthday in September. He hadn't even taken them out of the box by Christmas, so we rewrapped the box & gave it to him for Christmas. OMG!! Was hilarious. He had no idea but did say he thought he had shirts that looked a bit the same. OMG. We never told him. LOL He's not an appreciative person, more like an expectation kind of guy so we thought was appropriate. LOL |

Yes Judy the younger one(Jo) love stars and planets also. Might be a bit young for a telescope, London is lousy for looking at stars. Too bright.
Not sure what the older one (Oliver) is into. Apart from Angry birds and lego. Might get him some Lego, as this always annoys my brother who steps on it in the middle of the night. |

Good Morning Judy, Children are very observant and do pick up on other Peoples' Karma(Positive Energy or Negative Energy)and body language. Also they watch the interaction between their parents and how their parents treat and interact with others and then they learn to make choices. They see you as someone who is close to their parents and they also pick up on how other adults approach them, treat them and how they are spoken to by them. You have shown them Love, Respect and Kindness(among many other Spiritual Principles), you also talk with them not at or to them..... You actually take an interest in them and what they like and in what they do including them in your life and they know then that you are a good person. They will then open up to you and see you as a friend and not as a stranger or as a potential threat. The amazing thing is through watching and observing they can go through this process in a matter of a couple or a few minutes...and make a decision. Sometimes though if they receive mixed messages they can get confused and this process breaks down!!! Take care.....Leo

For your younger nephew, Jo, one idea for X-mas could be they make kits which have glow in the dark stars and planets. Which you can then stick to the ceiling and walls in his bedroom. Then when his bedroom lights are turned off they will glow for awhile why he slips into slumber!!! For Oliver, the Legos and the special sets they make these days are amazing compared to what I grew up with. That sounds like the perfect gift for a young boy who likes to create and build(and then you can buy a small package of Legos for yourself and then secretly plant them around key strategic pathways in their home before you leave)!!! Take care.....Leo

Just make certain the slippers you buy him are armor plated and throw in a layer of Kevlar to keep the situations tolerable.....and 2 Kilograms weights for his ankles!!! Oh, and drum sets are always a parents' fear..... When we had Ben and he was around four, my parents were teasing us by saying they were going to get Ben a drum set and I assured them this gift idea would be a great idea as long as they were set up and stored at there place and Ben could come over to practice everyday(at the time my parents lived approximately 3 blocks away from us), sadly both are gone and their ashes are spread in the woods down at my brother and SIL's home in the Ozarks' of Missouri and in the woods!!! Take care.....Leo
