Hi Carl.. Missed as always. You mentioned moving back to Montreal. Did you get a new job? Needed a change?

I'm doing ok. On my 2nd cast after surgery as the other one was very loose. I have another 5 weeks with this damn thing on then go from there. All in all, things have settled here on the home front. My mother has adjusted to being in the nursing home better than we thought. The staff say she gets weepy at times when the family isn't there but they talk to her & she cheers up.

I was going through some pictures on my computer & came across this letter I had kept. I don't think I ever posted it. My sister in law was sad the guy didnt go through the entire alphabet. She suggested I go out with him again just so he could in fact, finish. LMFAO Background...went out with this guy early last spring & suffice it to say, was only the 1 date. I dubbed him "my alphabet lover". So..to all you guys who think this kind of email is ok...IT'S NOT. You won't get a 2nd date & forget getting naked. Pay attention to letter L. I was 48 & he thought I looked 58!! He was a nice enough guy but a little too peculiar for me. Thoughts? Feedback? LMFAO

Judy, I could barely make it to the end of that letter This guy is a little unstable IMHO. Hi maintenance to be sure. No patience for that crap at my/our age!!!

Tony, I agree with all your points. It was game over that night as soon as he guzzled 3 bowls of Swiss Chalet sauce. He insisted on dinner so I picked Swiss. Lol. Quick & easy. I didn't expect him to talk past a quarter chicken meal. I'm still cracking up.

Wes, lol. I wonder if I had gone out with him again would the next email been emphasized my numbers instead of letters.

No not at all Leo. Just thought it was niche brand and the 2 watchmakers(Bas and Carl) might come across these watches. Be nice if they had a reference.

But if you would like the book(or anyone else) be happy to send. PM me with address.

Hi Judy,

Yes, I got a new job and not as a watchmaker believe it or not (close to it in my opinion though). I got hired at a big jewelry store in Montreal and work in the customer service department, where all the repairs come in and where you must take care of all the follow-up's and deal with the clientele. There's a lot of action and talking involved and I really like it as I've been doing a lot of customer service in the past years.

I won't put too many details for the sake of sparing your minds a long text but as strange as it may sound to see me doing something else than actual repairs on watches the job is still in the world of broken timepieces and jewels and it involves much more of my formation than I thought (and that most people would think).

Regarding that love letter, I'm not going to expand too much on it but the man sure was motivated...and yes, I've read it all so Tony, you need to up your game my friend!

Wes, I was just messing around with you(you know…pulling your leg and all)…but it does look like a nice book. You should continue to hold on to it as someone will come along and be thrilled to get it and be able to use it as a reference book!!!

Take care…..Leo

Judy, I'm just amazed that you finished your meal and date with that guy/spelled 'LOSER'…..("I have a migraine headache and need to go home and lay down")seems appropriate in this situation. Being "Happily Married"…..at least most of the time..…is it normal to spend a lot of time talking about your "Ex" on a new and first date with someone???

Take care…..Leo

So true Carl!! Guess after 17 years of marriage my game was shoved into a box and was placed on the top shelf in the closet in the spare bedroom

Carl, Sounds like you found a job thats a great fit for you. You never know, you might open you're own watch store in future & will have a well rounded knowledge base to be successful.

Leo, I think I zoned out sometime within the 1st 30min. I did slip out to the restroom so I could message my friend & update her. Soon after I said I had to go meet her, which I did because I wanted coffee & couldnt sit there 1 more minute. I played it cool at the car, gave him a quick hug goodbye & said I would message him the next day. Which I did because I had to address the email he sent me that night. Then I emailed him properly to tell him was a no go on my part. He wanted to get together again. HELL NO. See Leo, look at all the dating fun you're missing being a happily married man...most of the time. LOL LOL

Sherri, do you find your chocolate dial very dark in certain lighting or is it more of a light chocolate or bronze most of the time? How easy or difficult is it to read your dial? The bezel on your watch is the only diamond one I like. Not overdone, just enough shimmer. I was tempted to buy one & had gotten pricing on a few versions of it but then went with a 36mm instead. Are you thinking of adding to your collection?

So my apartment owner from which I rent my apartment was taking apart his old bathroom so he can make it larger and he killed my waterpipe, now I have no running water...

Oh, well I'm sure it'll get sorted quick. Hope you don't need a number 2.

He said he's going to fix it this weekend, I'm going home on Thursday night and will get back on Tuesday.
Today, tomorrow and Thursday I will have to make it with bottled water and pizza because I can't cook anything without tapwater (bad excuse)

You need water to make eggs & toast? Bas, I hope for your sake you know your neighbours well in case you "need a number 2" as Wes put it. I hope it's fixed by the time you get back.

Thank you Judy, I do like my job a lot right now. As for a possible future workshop, that could be an idea indeed...I really liked working on clocks and when I'll buy myself a house I'd like to set up a small room to buy tools and work on them...we'll see.

Bas, I'm sorry to read about your water problems. Seems to me like it's going to take them a while before fixing it, I know I wouldn't be too happy.

So I'm finally able to play GTA V... It took Rockstar games bloody 1.5 years from the xbox360 and ps3 release to the PC release. Glad I have a vacation coming up next week because I'm in my man cave until my eyes burst

Wow Judy I just read that "synopsis" of a date...Talking about EX's is always a bad sign IMHO. When I "dated" years ago I tried to talk about myself as little as possible and ask questions of/about the "date" but thats me. One time a women told me her whole life story in 90 mins....and said "All I know about you is..... you work for Lucent and like cats"

It took me about a year, a new computer and a lot of time dowloading patches and trying to figure things out online and in various files just to install and play GTA IV...as much as I like the franchise, I shall not buy GTA V for my computer.

I love those games and play the one I've managed to install every now and then but it left a rather sour taste in my mouth to have to do so many things and to feel left alone by Microsoft and Rockstar Games. I'll buy it if I ever buy myself an Xbox 360 or something else, otherwise I'll stick with my horror video games...

For crying out loud, Amnesia: The Dark Descent, the three Penumbra games and the three Five Nights At Freddy's games took 15-20 minutes each to download and I've had a lot of fun with them whilst screaming like there's no tomorrow...that's plenty enough for me.

Enjoy it though!

Thanks Carl.

I liked Amnesia: The Dark Descent a lot, it was genuinely scary, the last version (a machine for pigs) was also scary but not like the first one.
Haven't played Penumbra though, should give those a try as well.

Hi Everyone,

I've been MIA for a bit here working on some bling projects & busy with family stuff. I hope all is going well. I had my cast taken off on April.30th & seems to be healing pretty well. It's stiff & swollen still after 2 weeks but doing my physio exercises helps. Oddly, I think I feel the screws in there. LOL Not all the time, just at certain angles, it's a strange feeling. The day after getting the cast off, I put my nails back on. A little thing but boy did it make me feel good. So much for summer-like weather here in Toronto. One day we were dying of heat & running for air conditioning, 2 days later, we're back to full on coverage it was so cold! I ran out , bought some new flip flops, & got a super nice pedicure & put on some cheerful pink polish..for what? To put socks back on. Seems today might be better, so out come the flip flops again.

Have a great weekend everyone.

As you know Judy, it will get better with time! However, it's the likely hood of arthritis that set in to such injuries down the road that really sucks

Walter...I believe it! Never did before.

Oddly, I'm not sure I wrote this, but I wasn't intubated when I had surgery, was a local & I was in-between realms of the universe. LOL But I distinctly remember the surgeon commenting that it was very easy for him to "pop" in the screws because "usually was much harder to do". He was talking to me...but I was as high as a kite..LOL I couldnt respond. I might have but hell, I don't remember. I suppose a bone density test is in order. LOL I did ask him about his comment on my 1st follow up visit & he laughed about it. He said I said something in response but he had no idea what I said. That made 2 of us cause I was HIGH AS A KITE. LOL Then he took advantage of me....put on a damn camo cast like I was going to go shooting deer or something! LOL Ahhh...I'm glad I can laugh about it. ;-)

Tony, you're a downer. You look quite buff, whats bugging you ...shoulders? Knees? Perhaps the Liberator Series of cushions might help. I have a couple of these cushions but really have never used them..Maybe one day. I already know about arthritis. I've been a nurse for 25 yrs now & I have it bad in my shoulders from lifting people, mostly dead weight. X-rays show degeneration pretty bad which is synonymous with repetitive injury stats for 25+ years. Even now, we dont have ceiling lifts at work so the unconscious patients have to be lifted by old fashioned muscle..the nurses. I intend to nurse till retirement less I win the 649 but I can safely say, I'll be working for a few yrs yet. ;-) Time to look at other departments as I'm getting closer to the "senior" delegation. LOL
Tony, have you had an injury that has gotten worse with arthritis as you age? Not uncommon for this to happen.

So lets see what else....I've been babysitting as much as I can...which I LOVE. Those kids are super awesome even if they drive me crazy. I don't think the best award is the Oscars. The best award is that these 2 kids ask for me all the time because I'm a fun & attentive aunt. I take them places & experience memories with them. They just keep asking for me. I'm either bribing them very well or they like hanging out with me.

My diamond projects are coming along. I had hesitated on showing off my collection once it gets completed but my brother suggested I post it because will give ideas to the male population as to what is really out there to buy in the vintage-modern world of bling. Is a passion I have. If I was 30 yrs younger I would have gone to GIA for school but at 49, my eyesight isn't so great. However, I have a lot of contacts so if you guys need a bit of a push in the right direction, send me a message. I'll help you. I enjoy it that much.

Leo, Karl, Bass, Glenn, ..& the girls if they are reading....are doing well. :-) Thinking of you & hope all is well..

LOL Bang on Judy My knees and shoulder from years at the gym. I think. No, I am sure it is from the misuse and overuse of weights, we as people were never meant to use.
My wife too, has been a nurse for the past 25 years and was remarkably unscathed until recently. She too has a bad shoulder now from lifting patients, a persistent knot in her upper back and sciatica in her butt lol
Sorry to be a downer, but the truth does hurt literally Glad your surgery went well, and that your on the mend. Cheerier thought moving forward
