If it happens and max is one ahead, it’s going to be a wild finish. In a earlier time we may have seen max throw it into Lewis into turn 1 taking both out and holding the championship. Now days, that’s not possible and certainly for the best.

It would surprise me 0% if we see botas or Perez dump it off the track to draw a yellow flag if Red Bull or Mercedes get too far ahead in the final race. If max had 6-7 more laps today under a full safety car vs the VSC, it would have been a game changer.

It's pretty clear that the 2 protagonists are so much better than their teammates and any "help" either can give them is purely coincidental. Even with the 5 grid spot penalty, Max scored as much as he could have today and was never going to run down Lewis as that Mercedes is just on another level.

Barring any 1st lap carnage, Max has to win 1 of the last 2 races but just don't see how any car can get past Hamilton's Mercedes with their sheer speed.

Got it off Alonso. I saw it pop open briefly at the end of the straight, or he "forgot" to use it.

Max is going to dive bomb Lewis somewhere in the last race, taking both out, thus winning wdc. His excuse will be, oops.
Heard it here first.

Second...I think.

(I refer the Honourable member, to a statement I made earlier. 19-Nov-21)
So, as I understand it, this decision would seem to give MV, or any other driver, carte blanche, to deliberately push a competitor off the track.

Given the current state of the Championship, this gives MV a distinct advantage over his nearest rivals, in that, in any incident that occurs between MV and say LH, the status quo is maintained, giving the incumbent leading points scorer a distinct incentive, to run his opponent off.

I read somewhere that Gasly will be the assassin and drive Hamilton from the road. Both Red Bull and Alpha are owned by the same company, hence the suspicion of the "let through" by Gasly the other weekend.

I cant find the article now, it was on Apple news (I think) on my iPhone.

Saw the article. Gasly, went down the straight without DRS and only opened up after Max passed by. So he essentially gave Max a boost. Can’t blame them for tactics, but when running people off the track or crashing to prevent the pass is complete bs.

In that vein, I understand that, one of the Stewards, is ex-Red Bull.

Heard it here first.

It wouldn’t be the first time, and it’s not like they haven’t clashed before. Lewis needs to be driving very carefully out there.

Yup, that's Kimi of today. You can actually understand what he's saying. I missed his Ferrari days of....

Especially how his voice would slowly-ish tail off into silence near the end just as you think you aalllllmost are starting to understand what he is saying.

On some industry calls this week with a heavy heart.

A hero to any F1 fan, participant and official. Ross and Zack did a fairly good job commenting upon Frank’s seminal role and praise for all the success in F1.

Hoping the Saudi GP can do something special to mark his passing.

RIP Sir Frank. It's highly doubtful what he did could be repeated in today's F1.

On another note...
Reflective respect from one of the greatest:

Fernando Alonso recently for Sport1.de:
"I think Michael was the biggest rival of my career. He was like a teacher to me. I was very young, just got into Formula 1, I was fighting directly for the world championship.

"He was a man who never gave up. He always delivered something special. We often thought that the Renault was the better car, but then you go into the race and see Michael again right behind you. "

One asked oneself 'how is that possible'. Even on a bad weekend for Ferrari, Michael was always second. It was unbelievable what performance he did. Sometimes he did magic."

Actually, I think you’re onto something…something really cool.

Sometime between lap 30 & lap 35, mandatory competitor bathroom visit during pit stop. No “double stacking”!

RB’s Horner, “It’s hugely fast and the first sector is like Suzuka, but with walls! It is going to be a massive challenge and I’m sure there will be plenty of excitement and drama.”

BTW, throwback Thursday for us…and maybe worth gaining a good answer for those drinking buddies who say “why should humankind waste resources on F1”…

Watch out world..... Lewis Hamilton is now serious about winning a title and it doesn't come a moment too soon before the last 10 days of the season... Unlike those that came before him such as Clarke, Steward, Senna, Prost and Schumacher, Lewis Hamilton has had to cancel attending fashion shows and actually work out to match the stiff competition of a rival with a car that is close to his....

What I admire most about Lewis is his unwavering self awareness.

Lewis Hamilton Reveals the Big Fashion Sacrifice He Made in Order to Challenge Max Verstappen for the F1 Title

As reported by The Sun, the 7-time world champion opened up about the massive fashion opportunities he had to turn down this year in a bid to focus on the title fight against the Dutchman.

“I have been working hard. And this is the best I have been able to give in a year in terms of the training, the time balance that I have,” he said.

can't hate on him trying to build his brand though and enjoying his life/fame/money because in the end that's what it's all about no? if he was focusing on that while losing it'd be different, but he does all that while still winning every year. i get that his car was better, but i will die on the hill that in the last 6 years that he's won no one else on the grid would've beat him in a mercedes or a car equal to his. i'm still amazed rosberg pulled it off and don't really understand how

all those guys in the 60s and 70s spent tons of time partying anyway, it just wasn't on record
