Intruder99, it was a honest mistake on my part. I was simply looking for Vicents post with the venue and time details from a couple of previous pages and didn't realise there were more attendees added to that list after his post. Shouldve double checked it before posting my post, but it was later in the night. Blaming on the drinks.
(I thought the new attendees should've added their names into the list Vicent created for easier information for everyone... Guess not. )

Anyway, now that Vicent have revised/updated the attendee list. It'd be great if you can join us (again).

Hope this will make you feel better.

(cough... Dan would know I would tell the person not to come directly if that was what I wanted to do... Not in a round about way )

I would have preferred to meet in Hatton Garden near where Hans Wilsdorf had his original shop with Alfred James Davis, Wilsdorf & Davis, then walk to where their new shop was at 44 Holborn Viaduct. Experience a bit of history and a few drinks on the way.

Going to a GTG is to meet new people and getting to know them! That is the fundamental reason why I go to a GTG. I dont drink, and if others drink?? Well who cares!!!!! That is part of the fun. The company is what counts at a GTG.

If u dont like it, simple, dont go! Noone is holding a gun to your head.

Stiggy mate lighten up!!!!

Eric's NOT the kinda guy that would deliberately delete ANYONE off the list & if you want to indulge in some history before/after the GTG that's great....

If you invited others to join you then perhaps they would jump at the chance but personally I'd rather have a beer & a chat with mates in the sun (& in my maknkini) than schlep half way across London on a packed tube train in the middle of Summer on some kinda horological history tour.

It's your call mate:

You're a grown man & more than capable of jumping on a tube if the fancy takes you (aren't you?) but maybe make the suggestion & invite others along rather than get all 'Daily Mail' about it....... ??

Excellent points well made Sir!

I'd just like to add mankinis, beer, food, & watches to the list of "things that count" though.

Firstly: I think that your reaction to Eric (ESM) accidentally missing you off the list was OTT.

Secondly...you now deciding that you'd rather not attend this GTG based on members joviality and good spirits in this thread (although Dan may actually wear a mankini ) is perhaps a sign that you have really misunderstood what this is all about for us.

As John has pointed out so well already, the fact that we are all going to have the opportunity to meet and hang out together is fantastic. WE are what's important in our minds and, in the build up, we're enjoying friendly banter.

It's what our GTG's are about here in Perth...and it's what this one's about.

If this is not something you'd like to be a part of then so be it.

wow - talking about being sensitive.

dont think there is anything more we can do or say to make you feel loved.

no one is forcing you to attend this GTG. you are more than welcome to organise your own GTG at Hatto Garden and walk down the memory lane with people who will/might appreciate your presence.

I turn my back for a few hours and all hell breaks loose!

To Stiggy: it might just seem like our GTGs aren't focused on the watches, but I can assure you, there's plenty of talk about them. Myself, Dan, Bill and Dalip nattered away for the whole afternoon, swapped watches and stories, even dragged random members of the public into our group, and I can honestly say it was truly fantastic day at the last London GTG. From the looks of things, there's going to be watch ogling/shopping on the Sunday, but meeting up with a few likeminded people from across the globe to talk about just about anything, it's something special

Come on Intruder, lets forget this, add yourself to the list and get yourself over for the GTG, it would be good to meet you.

I am a newcomer to the forum and have experienced nothing but love, I am not a big drinker, but as others have said it is about the company and looking at what the GTG brings, I for one am amazed that people such as yourself and others are prepared to travel to the UK for this GTG!

Hey Stiggy, yea, it was just a small misunderstanding - sometimes it happens when we write in words Totally agree with Submariner G that you are so good to come all the way from Australia to meet this GTG! I don't think I can do that!

I am also not a big drinker as well and in fact, I don't even have a Rolex watch! But I am planning to go just to meet all the people I talk to here and just have fun.

I am 100% sure you guys will talk about Rolex and I will just admire them

So come!

As for mankini, I would be very impressed if someone did wear that. It shows how brave they are!! But I don't think I can really talk to them without laughing!
