Keep your eye out on those penguins when wearing your watch in Antarctica. They'll want a nice watch to go with their tux :).

Great thread! Thanks for sharing your experiences. It's nice to see a Rolex doing what it was meant for - exploring!

Toys. You stuff Toys in their G-strings. With the natural exponential growth in population over time, Santa's workshop couldn't keep up with all the toys needed every year. The old workshop apprenticeship model wasn't working anymore...

Thanks for sharing your pics TooMuchTalk. I really enjoyed the Antarctica pics. They make me want to get off my couch and go somewhere epic.

Thanks, I was curious of how the cold was dealt with. That simple approach makes sense.

That would be a terrible waste of a good couch.

Technically better than the old one.
But....
Damn, the suspense!

Turned out to be a rather entertaining thread, after a choppy start! Bravo, TMT!

Don't own one. The watches are ones I have got from new, from the same AD.
Should have bought one as the first watch, but alas.
Yet, now I don't miss it from the collection, and not prepared to pay the premium for a second hand one.

Great watch! I had a Mk XII and MK XV and sold them to Redsrover on this forum. The XII had a JLC movement and was my most accurate watch. BTW, you never said that your collection was pure Rolex!

That makes sense, but is a tragic revelation. Santa is now basically pimping elves..... How could it have come to this?

Waiting for more photos - watches and landscapes.

Amazing! This is a great thread! Since my niece worker down there, I've been fascinated with Antarctic exploration.

I can help you there, sort of. Here's my 1655 with a couple of souvenirs my niece brought me from her year at McMurdo. On a clean white bath towel. Best I can do, since I've never been further south than Panama, Kenya, Cambodia, Thailand, Philippines. LOL! But, it's the thought that counts. Patch/Zippo are from the US Navy helo squadron that supports the base there.

Man, this thread is awesome....

How do you guys end up having the opportunity to go on these expeditions? Can a regular Queue go up there?

I love Florida therefore I could not imagine myself staying in a tent in such cold climate. Can't help to wonder, with the freezing climate did you notice any issues with your watches, running slow or anything in that nature ?

Lastly, I beg to differ there is no such thing as a complete collection :)
