40mm. 228206 if I remember correctly. I had the one with Roman dial.

Never a fan of smooth bezels. I think the fluted bezel is classic Rolex. For those that say that it is hard to differentiate from WG, I disagree. Platinum is very bright whereas WG has a duller finish.

Big fan of the gem set bezel. Especially baguette cut. Also love the pups! <3

Glad they have the fluted bezel now on platinum. It adds some gilt that a smooth bezel lacks.

I'm a smooth bezel fan. I used to prefer all fluted but the smooth bezel to me is cooler. To me, it makes the watch dial appear larger and "cleaner". Just my opinion.

I think the fluted bezel looks old-school. The smooth is a more youthful and sportier look. I have multiple fluted bezel watches including a DD40 YG and the variety of something different caught my eye in the Platty. The fluted bezel is a bling light show on the wrist, thanks Mystro. I bought my Platty to fly under the radar while wearing a DD and the smooth fits the bill for my taste.

Personally, I like the non-fluted bezel for this watch. It is stunning, and it differentiates it from all other DD or Datejust for that matter.

The light show of the iconic fluted bezel throws in the sun is unbelievable. I am curious if the smooth platinum bezel shows hairlines from wear like pcl???

I agree with you. The fluted bezel doesn’t differentiate between the SS, WG and Platinum.

Bad move Rolex.

seem to like that kind of bezel.

i wonder if Rolex will allow you to get the smooth bezel instead.
If not.... thats IT for me. Will have to swap it out or go with with a 2021.
I agree with you. The smooth bezel makes the watch "cleaner". The fluted bezel version looks like a fence around the dial and detracts, IMHO.

Both bezels look incredible. I just wish they would bring back the blue Romans.

Still waiting for the 228236 with the fluted bezel/ice blue dial. Would prefer indices but would take it with baguettes.

Anyone getting offered one of these? I am losing confidence in the AD process.

I’ve been asking my AD since it was released. He has only received one. Seems pretty hard to get.

It frustrating as there seem to be a lot of new ones (with recent warranty cards) on Chrono24 and eBay...
