18 GTS Not that it’s crazy or anything but most would rate it above OFBB. I just love me some birthday bourbon for whatever reason.

That’s not too bad. If it was for last year’s OFBB, that may be another story. I was underwhelmed with last year’s release (JMHO). And who doesn’t love OFBB?! Enjoy! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Honestly not a bad trade imo. GTS is great, but depending on the year/batch I find Stagg Jr very close whereas birthday bourbon is definitely something different.

I really liked 2019 OFBB. I didn’t try 2020 as heard mixed reviews.

Yeah there’s about to be a run on Jr as well this year I’m assuming with no GTS release.

It’s very good. I felt 2019 had this strong cherry note that I liked but maybe the nose wasn’t a strong showing a bit of ethanol. 2021 has a better nose and a more classic bourbon palate. I’m really extremely green with bourbon. Being able to afford some nice bottles has nothing to do with knowing what you’re doing as you know lol I took Fred minnicks word for it on this bottle and I’m not disappointed.

I snagged two of these from Costco, the NV-1 batch. It's good. I am not positive, but I think it's that "mystery" mash bill that everyone's been using the last few years, and I have a Hickory Hill 15 year that has the same juice (if I'm correct). I will have to crack it and try them side-by-side.

Whoa. That's a fair trade, IMO. I have had a few GTS, currently have my 2019 open, and it's honestly not my favorite. The 2019 Eagle Rare 17 was better, IMO. the 2020 GTS was abysmal. Everyone talks about HAZMAT GTS, but I haven't tried those; I think they'd be too hot for me, the 95-110 proof is my perfect range, especially with aged stuff.
My state gets very few allocations of OFBB, and most go to the casinos. Same with most of the annual limited offerings... I've heard great things about this year's OFBB, though. I liked the pours of 2017 and 2018 I had. |

I also prefer the 100-110 proof range. Seems most guys who are balls deep in bourbon want the hazmat stuff. I guess after awhile you acquire a taste for the hot stuff idk. I actually like 19 gts because of it’s lower proof by GTS standards. Was great for me as I was able to get several at better pricing than the other years as most loathe 2019.

I think most would agree with you on this one... Most whiskey (bourbon for me, specifically...) isn't worth over MSRP, and some isn't even worth that.
ORVW is good, but I've never gotten my hands on a bottle because I'm not willing to spend more than $150 for it, and everywhere sells it for $800 |

Agreed. Most know PVW isn’t the best Buffalo trace product let alone old rip. But that’s the best bottle for impressing people who don’t know much. Or at least it use to be when I could get them for 399. Much like watches the diminishing returns with bourbon is massive. After a certain level it becomes an exercise in burning money for kicks.

Anyone know of an online dealer that ships Blantons in the USA?
