Yum, I've had that. Great choice.

Try Layer Cake if you get a chance.

A powerful Aussie Cabernet Shiraz from the premier wine growing region, the Coonawarra.
Has aged well and responded to a couple of hours breathing.
Lovely full bodied fruit with a good tannin and oak structure holding it all together.
Another case to go.

Nice..I'm a big fan of the Pessimist at its price-point...it's in the regular rotation at our house with a few WA red blends (Gorman, Efeste, Mark Ryan...)

Simply...The Wine Thread

Layer Cake Primitivo aka Zinfandel 2012

We were pleasantly surprised with this wine. For the price $14 a bottle it is worth a try to see if you might like it too.

Winemaker Notes
The Layer Cake Primitivo comes right at you with huge inky black fruit, spice and white pepper. Layered and rich in the mouth with jammy black cherries, truffles, espresso and a dense, creamy texture. Always in the background are hints of earth and minerals from the ancient sea beds that are the Puglia terroir. The Primitivo is always a go-to wine; it works with almost any food, and is great all by itself.

Actually had some at a friends last weekend, the pinot noir, it was fine. I think he said $20 for what converts into 4 bottles too

Nice! I have been paying around $72 a bottle. Did you get the 15% off from Caymas Vineyard's?
