Hodinky Berkus

From his IG, the story of this watch is Ondřej had a fusee and chain in one his boxes for the past 12 years. He wanted to make a watch with it but didn't know how. Putting a fusee is challenging with winding as winding wheels and crown are not allowed to turn back during running, hence he designed a planetary differential to fix this issue.

The watch is in a 39mm case with a 1-minute tourbillon. The front aesthetics look very raw but I like that rustic look. There are hand-finishing front and back. I love this thing.

Looks like a rustic version of the Breguet tourbillon 7047.

There are some very concerning flaws on his Watches. I like the design a lot, though, and I think he should just outsource the watchmaking, and go full on ming

He made this fusee and chain tourbillon himself. What watchmaking are you about?

His watchmaking is top notch. So are his designs. The only thing lacking is the finishing. If he could get a high level finisher inhouse, it would be game over.

A friend had a pretty big functional issue with a watch. Unsurprisingly.

More context. What was the exact issue, when happened and how was the fix.

My Datejust 41 was out by 5 minutes per day but I don't go to Rolex forum and attack the brand by telling them to outsource their watchmaking like Ming. Need context here.

I just spent the past year communicating regularly with Ondrej on a WhatsApp group with 10 other guys who also bought 1 of his 1st (and probably only) series of watches, the OB1. He is a true character who takes great pride in his work and takes customer service to the extreme. I'm sure if your friend had an issue, Ondrej did whatever he could to correct the problem. I can't speak highly enough of Hodinky Berkus.

He just posted in his IG he has released a new series of simple watches for 11 customers. Are you 1 of them? They are all different colours and the movement has 5 interior angles. This is so cool.

I just wanted to chime in that following Ondřej on IG has been a good time. He has some one-off custom watches on his page as well. He's been busy, but avoiding getting stuck with a hype watch that has him making the same watch X number of times for a year or years. Cool guy and watches.

Mine is 8/11, with what Ondrej calls blurple meteorite hands. Through the process via our WhatsApp group I saw 2 of the 11 were very similar to mine on the dial side so I asked Ondrej if he had any additional meteorite or mammoth tusk to make a set of hands. He had meteorite and the rest is history. My movement is frosted pink gold. It's a beaut.
