Which Platinum Day Date would you wear and why

Hey everyone.... just as the title says. Out of the these two day dates (please do not inject other models) which one would you buy and why. Im a little biased with the motif version. I love the simple batons and I like lume with my watches. Both are beautiful though. What is your view/opinion?

The first pic. That dial with the stick markers is just sublime.

The latter...blue on blue is absolutely stellar. You are in good company with either...Tom Brady rocks a platinum DD in tandem with his platinum Daytona

I love the second one. I find it to be much more unique. Absolute grail!

Any of them. You'd be in the very few minority that could afford that piece.

If I had to choose I'd choose the first one. Ice Blue Motif Dial plus its got LUME! Very important to me.

I will go for the motif. Dial looks less complicated and elegant.

Not the best pic, but it has Lume :-)

Funny you should ask this, I really want one of these but not there with the $ yet. I would absolutely get the second one with the quadrant dial and blued hands and numbers. BUT, the problem is I prefer stick batons and don't like roman numbers or smooth bezels. So, from my perspective (not worth much) ...from my perspective... I'm in love with the blued hands and numbers. So if I was buying today, that's my choice. I'm actually hoping one day this gets issued with the ice blue quadrant dial, blued batons and hands. Then I will stretch and buy immediately. Sorry, just my .02 worth.

I definitely hear you. The roman dial is beautiful and the light makes the indices sparkle. Also, the quadrant etching is gorgeous. However, I love batons because its low key and this was the watch that caught my attention when I was going through the rolex website. You cant go wrong with either. But, if its dark out.... I can still read the time with the motif :-)

This one - because I already own the white gold version, and love it!

And because I don’t like the smooth bezel on the day date. Also don’t generally like diamond bezels but this one with the baguettes matching up with the dial is spectacular.

Only one of the few rolexes that you can buy under list on the grey side. My local AD has one in stock and the SA agreed that the swing of 17k (after taxes) is a lot from AD vs grey. It was sitting there for months which was nice to put it on and really examine it.

Of the 2, the diagonal motif. I do prefer the dark blue dial for myself.

Too easy...the sticks and motif dial for all the reasons you already identified.

Good luck!

These lapis dials platinum DD can still be found once in a while. But no lume and only in 36mm.

I am not usually a fan of Roman numerals but I’d love to see #2 in person.

One of our Trusted Sellers has one in that range right now. Astonishing that you can still get them at such a discount. I think it has to do with the price point more than anything. That said, if current trends continue, it won’t be like that for long. Truly amazing watches. The lume sticks and hatch dial are beautiful, but the blued Romans and quadrant motif are just so unique. No wrong answer that’s for sure.

I love them both but in reality I'd rather not have to pull out my $700 cell phone to use the flashlight feature to read the time on a $60k watch at night. So I'll go number one.
