Build me a box!

Finally, finally had some spare time, accumulated over several weekends, and decided to build myself a box for some of my bits & pieces. Well, build is a little bit generous, it was more like re-build. It's been ages since I've done anything with my hands, so it was fun to get crafty again. The finished product is far from perfect (so was the original box, as a matter of fact!), but it doesn't really matter. Had fun doing it!

Before

After a sand, re-stain, re-oil and building all the interior shelves etc.

And some of the family in their new home. There's some older watches I never wear under the front shelf, as well as all the extra straps, tools, links etc.

Eat your heart out messrs. Buben & Zorweg!

Now all I need is somewhere to store the old boxes, manuals, cards....

Very nice, Otis. Beautiful finish on that wood.

Now would like to come over to my place. I've got a few projects that need doing.

Yeah, I have a century old oak table that needs some TLC. I'll supply the beer!

Great job, btw!

Thanks guys!

I was pleasantly surprised myself by how well the finish came up, especially after about 20 coats of danish oil!
I'd love to do some more woodworking, but I just don't have the time.
It's terrible, i can start something, then i run out of weekend and it doesn't get finished until 3 weeks later

Hmmm...oak table eh? sounds nice. Supply the beer and an airfare & i'll do it!

And JJ....don't tempt me even more! I'm in limbo at the moment, can't decide between 3 watches, so I'm going to leave it for a while, and see what I like in a few months. Maybe I'll be able to get more then one then.
