Icon10 Milgauss (116400GV Black) vs. GMT Master II (116710LN) - Help Please!

Hey guys.

Just wanted to get your input.
These are what is in the collection currently:

Pepsi/Coke GMT 16710
Explorer 2013 214270
Black Bay Noir 79220N
Speedy Pro 3572.50
Speedy Pro Moonphase 3576.50
Seamaster Chrono 2589.30
Wittnauer 3256 228T

I have a soft spot for quirky and playful watches. I am also an engineer.
That's why the Milgauss really hits all the spots for me.

But the thing is, I can't pull the trigger as the GMT is my first love.
And that 116710LN looks and feels fantastic on the wrist!

So, it's now down to Milgauss vs GMT.

For the current owners of the black Milgauss GV, do you ever get tired of the accents and the green crystal?

For those that own both, would we be able to please see side-by-side shots and what your preference is when choosing to wear them?

Thanks for your help!

The 116710 is significantly more loved than the 116400gv on these forums. However I see that you already own the 16710 which is all the GMT any man really needs. Since you say you are an engineer and love quirkiness I really have to recommend the Milgauss GV for you. It would add a really nice conversation piece to your collection. And I have to add that the GV really shines in a collection. The 116710 is more of a "one watch to do it all" and you already have several watches that fill that role nicely......214270, 16710, 3572.50, black bay, all are "do it all" watches. Time to add a nice weekend watch imo.

You can never have too many GMTs IMHO. Alternative to Milgauss is the new Airking!

Out of the 2 id go GMTiic just because am not a fan of the milgauss.
Had the GMTiic LN but got tired of the many and large numbers very fast ( on the bezel ) , for this reason I'd advise you to look at the subc ND, who knows it might make sense.

Go with the Milgauss GV, would be a nice addition to what you have.

given your collection (heavy on sports models, already have a rolex GMT), GV for certain 100%.

I had a black mil gauss; though it was a handsome watch, I found it exceedingly top heavy. A brick on the wrist and heavier than the Sea Dweller I had at the time. WEE UHD for a non sport watch and quite uncomfortable. If you find it comfortable, however, you should get the Milgauss since you already have a GMT.

They are completely different watches for different needs. I would say that the 116710 really flies under the radar with a thinner profile. This really is a go everywhere, do everything watch. The milgauss however is a nice and cheeky number. Something when you wanna add a little colour with a slight touch of class. Or when you feel "summery" and want a bit more colour in your outlook. Anyway, here is a side by side shot...

They both are great watches. And looking at your current collection, I would go milgauss
Good luck and do post an incoming as to what your eventual choice would be.
