Whispering Horses....

I'm no authority on horses...

When I was kid I spent a month every summer at my godparents farm/ranch and had a great old time and we often rode horses. Actually work horses. Cattle horses. And these 3 horses thought I was stupid. A city slicker.

I remember one day after riding with my cousin for a few hours and heading back....and horses, the saying goes, "can smell the barn"....or know when it time to go back home will generally always speed up. Sometimes a lot.

Well this horse was not impressed with its 10 years old rider and galloped up to the fence by the barn going very fast, ....and I thought he was going to jump it.....so I jumped off at the last minute landing in a lot of you know what.

And the horse just calmly stopped right at the fence and looked down at me and said with his eyes that I was a dumbass.

Later when I was in my 20s I had a friend who had too much money and he bought championship cutting horses for a hobby and I was amazed how these brilliant animals could cut a calf out of a herd and "guide" it to where the branding took place.

This is a cool story of a horse whisperer who found out, the whispering goes both ways.
