Vehicle wraps (specifically boat)

I’ve always just had whatever color the boat came with and rolled with it.

Recently decided to completely refurbish my 25’ concept. Gelcoat repair, deep detail, wrap, new upholstery and electronics.

I was thinking traditional black, dark blue or battleship grey wrap. After looking at the samples, I’m officially going nuts and going with a wrap no one I have talked to us ever seen a boat wrapped in.

Have any of you ever done a crazy unique wrap on a vehicle or boat? This is the wrap
It changes to gold as well. Wrap and upholstery guy think it will be incredible.

I fell in love with the green hue of it. Not so much a fan of the purple but considering the application I believe it will constantly be changing colors underway.

I have never wrapped a car, don’t own a boat. I think your wrap choice will be a killer. Post pics when complete.

I don't know if you could expect the wrap to survive water abrading along or near the water line would cause.

It would lift in my opinion. For that reason I wouldn't do it.

A superyacht that isn't bounding on the waves might be a different story.

Maybe wrapping the hull would help with barnacle removal. Just pull the wrap and watch them fly.
Did I just stumble on a million dollar idea?

I wrapped a GT-R in a color shift wrap in the past. I started to get tired of the effect after about a year. To me, a color shift generally screams that it's a wrap. There are some paint options that shift but I don't see that very often. If I had my choice I would prefer to paint a vehicle before wrapping one. That being said I would certainly wrap another vehicle, I would just do it in a way that it doesn't tell the world "this is a wrap and not paint". Color shift on a boat would definitely look really slick though. Maybe a good option would be to do a 2 color wrap with a solid and then have color shift accents or vise versa.

The only way for me to give a proper answer is to see the boat in person. When can we take it out? I’ll bring the beers

Comes with a 5 yr warranty for the material and installation. I’m having him wrap the motor too and that will only be covered by the material warranty because he doesn’t know how well it will hold up on the motor cowlings.

lol, not wrapping the underside. Also, thankfully it will be kept on a lift so hopefully no barnacles in my future.

I could see that happening. I’m hoping I won’t get tired of the look since it likely isn’t going to be used but a few times a week.

It’s not uncommon for boats to be wrapped. At least down here, I presume every boat is wrapped these days.

lol. In all seriousness, there are a lot of things I disagree with the guy on but he seems to be fairly successful with the space travel.

Some boats, just don't need 'wrapping'.

This beauty,sadly, isn't ours.
It was our, "Barca Taxi Acqueo Privato" from Marco Polo Airport to our hotel.

I put a wrap on my old truck. Before I sold it, I pulled it off myself pretty quickly. Wish I would’ve bought another watch instead, lol.

I’d probably prefer battleship grey because it’s a classic and I gravitate toward neutrals. I do like your selection and am sure it will look cool and turn some heads. If it’s a center console and you have a hardtop, perhaps consider wrapping the underside with it too. Very cool

Unfortunately no hard top. I showed her examples of the grey’s. She said of the colors I picked she thought black would look best. Then the wrap guy same with his samples and I saw the chameleon. She said that’s the color and well…. Here we are. lol. I think it will come out sharp as hell but worst case is it’s sure going to be unique.

Did you get the boat wrapped? Are there any pictures? I like the one that changes colors. I have seen it on cars and think it will pop on the water.

I had to have it brought home from the upholsterers yesterday due to the storm.

It was supposed to be at the wrap place this week but boat guys never hit anything on time and even though it’s home from the upholsterers they still have some odds and ends to do.

This is the boat currently.

Dude! That's totally tubular!

I really do like purple & that "cosmic" effect looks very cool.

I didn’t know the primary color of it was going to be purple. Thought it was going to be dark green.

Can’t wait till the light hits it.
