Newport Beach, CA… recommendations

I’m headed to Newport Beach in a few weeks for vacation. Any recommendations for watch lovers? Secondary shops or vintage shops you’d recommend? Thanks

If you want to go to an AD with lots of brands under one roof (Rolex, Patek, Panerai, Omega, IWC, Breitling, Tudor, Grand Seiko, etc..), check out Hyde Park at Fashion Island (outdoor shopping mall in Newport: https://www.hydeparkjewelers.com/

If you can drive a little more, there is a shopping mall called South Coast Plaza in Costa Mesa, about 15 min drive from Newport. That mall is THE place for watch shopping. Tons of AD's in there: Rolex, Omega, IWC, Panera, AP, Patek, Lange, Breitling, JLC etc...: https://www.southcoastplaza.com/dire...tegory=jewelry

One of the best grey dealers, OC Watch Guy, is out of Huntington Beach, about a 20 min drive: www.ocwatchguy.com

If you want to visit a place that is known for servicing but also has some used watches in stock, check out Jewelers on Time, Kenny and Victor (twin brothers) are stellar dudes: https://www.jewelersontime.com/

Good luck with them. I made 3 email inquiries over the course of two weeks about a watch they had listed for sale on Chrono24 (also listed on their website), and they never had the courtesy to answer. Two phone calls to their listed number were also unanswered.

[QUOTE=Al1969;12252191]OP, before you go to Bobs read this.

What what a good read! Thanks for posting that as I was considering buying from them since they had the watch I wanted.

Jeez, how petty is that? What do they do with the extra link?

I’m sure they sell the ‘extra’ links they keep.

Luxe mansion in fashion island in Newport, as well as Bhindi jewelers in Artesia, CA about 20 min drive from Newport but setup feels like a luxury airport duty free.

Hyde is a waste of time. Barely make eye contact/acknowledge you unless you're an existing customer. Too busy catering to Newport plastic surgeons & foreigners with "f you" money. I've had more meaningful conversations with the security guards there than any sales associates.

I didn’t get a great vibe from Hyde myself. Took down my information but probably didn’t go anywhere.

A short drive to South Coast Plaza and then you get all the boutiques.

OC Watch Guy is awesome. Bobs is not a place I'd give my business even if they had what I wanted.

If you're visiting the OC, it's OCWatchGuy.

San Diego, it's Tony at SDWatches.

Orlando, DavidSW.

Nashville, Chase at Nashville Watch Co.

That's all you need to know!

Good guys. Never bought from them, but we go to same dentist and I’ve had some great watch talk with them and our dentist who’s a WIS. They do stock some cool watches.
