Thanks that is great help. I have spent too much time with my Rollies, and 6 years have passed on my Omega SMP Midsize, and I think I probably need to send it in. My Rolex AD has with him a certified Rolex jeweller, and he says he can service my watch. What is the concensus on the work done by the service centers, and the price of such standard service? Just curious.

My experience at Swiss Service Center in IL was very positive. I made a thread about it on the Omega Forum section in TRF.

I've had direct positive experience with O.S.A. in Philadelphia, and would not hesitate to recommend them over Omega, Secaucus. No first hand experience, but there is a sentiment that Swatch Group Customer Service is a contradiction in terms and would be a last resort.

Has anyone had dealings with Nesbit's in Seattle? My SMP is due for service.

My wife sat next to the US Marketing Manager for Omega on a flight several months ago and she recommended the NY service center.
BTW, she (the manager) was wearing a 45.5 Planet Ocean on an orange deployant. |

Thanks for the great info on service centers. I have two questions: How often should I send in my DeVille for cleaning if I wear it to the office every week day? Also, how do you recommend I clean/polish my watch in the safest manner? I'd prefer to do that on my own. Thank you again!

Time Tech
My experience with Kevin at Time TEch was 100% positive... he serviced my "pie pan" Constellation and I have been very pleased.

Does anyone know if the SF service center still active? I haven't been able to find a lot of info on Omega's site. Closest is LA.
Thanks! |

My mainspring broke after 3 years and less than 6 months of actual use (running of the watch). I called Swiss Service and they said they do NOT replace the mainspring unless broken or visibly damaged. The watchmaker that now has my watch says that she replaces the mainspring with each service because reused mainsprings often break. I'm rescinding my positive opinion about Swiss Service Center.

I heard it costs the same to service a Rolex and an Omega. Is there some truth to that? Rolex charges $600. How much did you guys paid for your Omega Services?

Although I have no direct experience, I have heard from other watch friends that the service center in IL is not good. Based on these reports, I have no plans to ever send either of my Omegas to them should they need service.

It seems like all of the locations posted on the OP are no longer in service. Granted the OP was from 2008. Omega's website list two Omega Boutiques as service centers. One in New York and one in Seattle. It also lists two OMEGA Repair Centers. One in New Jersey and one in Florida. Lastly, it lists a location in CA known as The SWATCH Group US Inc.
Anybody recently send their OMEGA to any of these locations? I have an OMEGA that I'm thinking about sending in for some routine service.

Omega has pulled all repairs back in-house so those listed above USED TO BE authorized but no longer are
The boutique in NYC do all repairs in house now. The Jersey location received too many complaints regarding quality so if you're in the NY area drop by the boutique. As for the Seattle location I haven't stopped by the boutique there but will do so end of this month / early July as I'm going home to visit family so I can ask them if they repair in house. The routine service I would go with a trusted local watchmaker as it would save you some $$$ but then again if you want the fancy repair work and warranty go with the repair center. |

The Seattle SC is where all Boutique repairs go, it's a dedicated facility just for them to increase turnaround time on Boutique repairs. Other AD repairs go to either LA, Florida, or NJ, which are SWATCHGroup repair centers.
Seattle is a dedicated OMEGA only facility. You can drop repairs off right in the Service Center. |

I have a MK IV that needs service, a new crystal, new crown and refinishing. Anyone know if one Omega location better for old watches than another? I asked this question to an Omega rep via email and I have yet to get a reply.

Follow up: Omega got back to me and said to send my MK IV to the New Jersey repair center. I'll post how the experience went and before and after photos when it is done.

As a rule, vintage pieces would go to the main SGUS facility in Secaucus, and from their if the piece is still too old it'll get sent to Bienne/Biel (which requires a $75 shipping charge that will get rolled into your bill if you approve to send it for an estimate).

My vintage Omega Moonphase cal 715 is going to Bienne this week and I was told that there is 75 dollar for estimate but it will be waived if I choose to go ahead with the estimate.....which is now looking at around a grand.... Older pieces I believe are usually sent to Bienne. Gluck all on their services

My MK IV was delivered to Secaucus NJ facility yesterday. I already miss wearing it. I can’t wait to see it in its original state and on my wrist. The crown is from a different model and it obviously need some other work. It does keep time very well. In fact, as well or better than any of my other watches (less my Casio G Shock).
