Birchwood Dials

I have an 86 Day Date with a Birchwood Dial. This dial appears to become more blonde in the sunlight which I like. I am not sure if this is reflection or what.
My question is will this dial become darker or lighter as it is exposed to repeated sunlight? I have been told wood changes color over time. Thanks. JK
