233 Final Production Series?

Does anybody know what the final ‘series’ of production for the 233 was? I’ve seen a couple V but never a W or X or Y (despite some ADs still stocking the 233 as recent as last year).

Any knowledge on this would be appreciated! My 233 is V, thought it would be quite neat if I own the final series of what is the best Panerai ever in my opinion.

Update: Panerai actually emailed me back, didn’t think they would.

They verified in database, V Series is indeed the last 800 produced for the 233. Will leave this here in case anybody ever stumbles upon this in the future!

I always thought 233 was a great seller, maybe I was misinformed. As I too, was also highly surprised when it was discontinued.

Why did they have to axe it?

I took my 233 into the Beverly Hills Boutique 3 weeks ago for service. My “fang” on the power reserve indicator had fallen off. In any case they had a new 233 V series in the case. They thought it was the last one around. It was absolutely gorgeous! I am nit sure why I was tempted to buy it. It certainly helped me to decide to get full refinishing treatment on the watch besides full service. Can’t wait to get it back. It had gotten a bit beat up.

I’m absolutely tickled that I have the final series. As I think the 233 will long be remembered as possibly pinnacle Panerai

Agree on the pinnacle line of thinking. I have been slimming down my Panerai collection, but can’t imagine losing the 233.

The only watch purchase I regret was my BLNR. I only have two regrets of watches I didn't buy and that's the 372 and 233.

I love the 372 aesthetic (and consider it 2nd best PAM behind with 233) but I just can’t vibe with the 47 size. It’s just too much for me.

I had the chance to pick one up from the boutique about six years ago and I still regret not doing it. Ok 47mm is not small but I could just about have gotten away with it. Only just, mind, but enough that I should have pulled the trigger.

bumping this back up as I'm actually now selling a V series 233! Haha I ended up obtaining 2 for my collection, making way for other stuff. Anyhow, in case anybody was looking for an 'end of the line' 233 still under warranty, I've got one.

It just sold, went quick!

Yeah I’ve been off TRF for a bit, watches entirely honestly (well buying/selling anything). It all just started to annoy me with all the wait lists and people only caring about values etc

I bought mine used. It was a U series.

The 233 is the best Panerai ever. The fact that they discontinued it is a poor reflection on management.

Wish I could wear a 47mm....that they also discontinued the 372, 127 and 690 is also a poor management decision.
