My AD told me that Rolex....

...makes all the sales associates (males he is referring to) wear full, dark colored suits, "conservative" ties, and white dress shirts. No "business casual", no "wild colors". He said it's required as part of their deal with Rolex, otherwise, they could dress more casually, especially during the hot & slower summer days. He also mentioned that Rolex "shops" them every so often (like a secret shopper) to make sure the store and the associates are reflective of the brand.

Not sure if legit (and who really cares) but every Rolex AD I visit, at least around me, seems to enforce this sort of attire for the men. My "other brands" AD that has Omega, Breitling, IWC, etc. but no rolex have all the dudes wearing more casual attire (no ties, no jackets).

Bit of useless gossip for everyone here on a summer Monday.

Except this is not even remotely true

Standard dress code for every single brand boutique and AD in HK. It’s pretty much a normal uniform for any high end retail outlet. Struggling to see what’s so unusual about it.

So does Enterprise rent-a-car employees. Not really surprising if true.

They could care less if they wear shorts and flip flops as long as they have inventory

Nothing unusual. Just thought it interesting that he specifically said it was only ROLEX that required it, not his boss, or the store, or another of the other brands they carry, such as Omega, Longines, Hublot, Tag Heuer and a few others. Apparently, those brands don't care. Just Rolex. I also thought it was interesting about how "specific" the dress code was from Rolex. Not just "suit and tie" but "dark suit, conservative tie, white shirt".

It was just a light, fun post. Not to be read too much into.

Well, every AD I’ve been in do not follow this logic.

True. And they aren’t supposed to wear a discontinued Rolex model.

ADs (like most jewelers) are some of the biggest liars out there - the only difference nowadays is they have a very very desirable product to sell. Without it, same old: https://youtu.be/1M4uEbLYyAM

Sure, I would love to dress up in a dark suit, stand behind an empty Rolex showcase, and deliver the bad news to the clients on a daily basis
