Just fell in love … PAM 01356

Love this watch. Boutique offering tax off plus extra buckle ($9,400) out the door. I’ve never bought a Panerai, so not sure if I should be getting more discount. Thoughts?

Nice, pre-congrats!

Boutiques tend to not discount. Maybe ask for an extra strap on top of the buckle?

Agree with this statement. The rubber camo strap that you had shown in one of the pics would look great on that as well. See if they would throw that on in with the purchase.

Looking forward to more pics of this dial under natural light.

Love that there are so many strap options.

I’m thinking of just drawing a go/no-go line of $8,500 out the door with extra buckle.

Above is the his/hers (for wife) they suggested. My wife wears Rolex 40mm watches now (SD 16600, Daytona 116500 and 126515)

Very handsome watch, and I love the concept behind the “e-steel,” using recycled materials. Makes it more interesting.

Did you end up buying it?

What's there not to love?!
It's a keeper in my opinion.

I am a retired attorney and a big PITA with negotiating. The best that I have gotten out of boutiques ( Panerai, IWC) is straps, Watch winders and other throw ins. They have not negotiated price.

In my experience, authorized dealers may negotiate price, but much less than they used to approximately ten years ago and certainly not on popular models.

Just bought a new Panerai from an AD and got a 15 percent discount and no tax because I was out of state, plus they shipped it to me for free.

I called around to several ADs (not boutiques) and that was the best offer. Some wouldn’t discount at all.

Here’s my new 40mm PAM01372 on my 6.75 inch wrist. Still has a great Panerai wrist presence because of the large dial and crown-guard design, but not the hockey-puck feel of some of the larger models. (I used to own a 44mm PAM00177). I feel this is a perfect fit, for me anyway.

I know Panerai has had some marketing issues in recent years, but I still really like the chunky, sporty look of this design. The new quick-change strap system is also fantastic. Feels like I have a fine quality timepiece on my wrist from a brand with historical significance.
