Zenith Defy Xtreme Open 1,000 Meters.

The case, in black titanium, measures 46.5mm. It has double AR coated sapphire crystals. It is water resistant to 1,000 meters

Movement is the automatic El Primoer 4021 SX with 248 parts, with the patented and exclusive Zenithium Z Bridges for anti-shock protection. It has 39 jewels, beating at 36,000 bph and with a 50 hour power reserve. The rotor is decorated with carbon inserts.

The strap is kevlar and steel.

May God have mercy on us all, wonder what happens when twirly things on the dial start spinning.Horology gone completely crazy, who the hell designed it. I what his head,to use as a football, perhaps then it would knock a bit of sense into it.Thankfully, you can still puke, through your regulator under-water,when you view the time, and still be able to breath..

That fugly watch looks like one of those wheat grinding machines at a flour mill where I once used to work as a Machine Operator on the same.

Saw this yesterday - no doubt that Zenith have lost their way in recent years. Certainly a far cry from the elegant Elite models that I once considered buying.......

Peter, I'm looking forward to seeing a price on that one. If it's low enough, and if I can get a good enough deal on it, I may buy it. It reminds me of some futuristic sci-fi machine. As long as it has the El Primero inside, I have to qualms with it as a watch. When committing cash to it, I just have to consider that it is mine forever. ;-) I can't wait to see it in person.

Hey Peter,

Don't mind my saying this, but I can relate to an attempted smiley like :-), but you do realise that many of these guys wouldn't understand that. Therefore, wouldn't it be easier to just click on this one...like so and convey your feelings and humour across a little better?

Just my thoughts, pal...and only because I've always admired your humour and posts.

Cheers - JJ

You mean Generation Next kids, right?

Generation X are the kids who followed the baby boom... born between 1964 and 1975. Next followed X.

Like Peter, I'm an Xer and proud of it!

JJ,

I find those silly, insidious, moving gifs really annoying. I don't find them funny or amusing at all. Maybe the first time I ever saw them -- about fifteen years ago, they were funny. Not any more.

My humor is my humor, and you're well familiar with it. You can explain it to the locals if you like. I really don't give a sh!t if they don't recognize traditional emoticons. If they don't like my resistance of the goofy cartoon icons, they can ignore me. I'd probably give up and leave eventually. ;-)

Thanks for your sugestion, though. :-)

Peter

John,

Actually I'm a bit pre-GenX. I'm a '60 model. :-) However, on the inside I'm about 23. (As long as I stay on my heart meds. ;-))

I gotta say that I don't hate it. I love the bracelet and wish the bezel didn't have those stars on it. But part of me really likes that puppy.

The twirly things on the dial are the mp3 player and video phone,a great movement, shame about the face.

Here is an article I found on Zenith's head honcho, and how he sees the brand and it's revival. It's a good read, but I still think the new designs are fugly.....

It is definitely not the most attractive watch out there. The one thing that watch will get are a bunch of looks and people asking what it is. I bet the thing costs too much for fugly.

That was a bit much, don't you think? I would think you would want others to understand your feelings or emotions behind your words. Talking to a person face to face affords one the ability to read body language and facial expressions, thus allowing us to determine the speakers mood. Whereas, simple words in black and white can camouflage the meaning behind the statements.

I agree. And I do use emoticons for guidance. But I use the old-school universal emoticons. There used to be graphic versions of them here (that you could drag into posts from the list below the editing window) but they're gone now. Must be a conspiracy against old farts like me. ;-)

Agreed, Earl....but those are mere punctuation marks as far as I'm concerned....and punctuation marks cannot convey any kind of emotion or feelings. They are just what they are - grammatical punctuation marks, bugger all else!!!!

I am as or more guilty than anyone for over using those icons, but seriously JJ, it doesn't matter does it? We all know Peter and what he is saying. Just my .05 cents (damn gas prices keep rising).
