Hour hand not aligned ( GMT II )

I've notice that the hour hand on my GMT II (3185 movement) doesn't point exactly at 12 o'clock (or any other hour marker) when the minute hand reaches 12. The hour hand doesn't point precisely at the hour marker until about 5 mins past.
Has enyone else encountered this? Anyone had it fixed? I imagine it's slighly more complicated to have it fixed on a GMT II or Explorer II due to the jumping hour hand on these models.

I don't think that it's any more difficult than any other watch..

A watchmaker needs to take the minute hand off, and re-install it 5 minutes back...

It can be fixed easily.

If it bothers you then take it to a watchmaker.

My second hand and minute hand are off. The minute hand isn't quite to the mark when the second hand hits twelve... bugs me. I can definitely see how your hour hand would bug you. I was going to ask to have it corrected, but I figured I'd be made fun of for being so anal.

My hour hand is 2 or 3 minutes "fast". I don't care.

I had that on my GMT IIc which was 2 mins out. I sent it back to RSC Bexley and it took 6 weeks before it came back. It was annoying that a new watch is not checked for simple thing like hands alignment. I had an Exp II which had no problem from day one and I guess it is just luck. When I bought mine I checked everything from when the date change over, the bezel that could be not centred at 12 o'clock, squeaking bracelet and free play on the bezel, thewse flaws were highlighted here. But I never envisaged a simple thing like the hands not aligned properly.

Susan,
You are experiencing gear slack in the movement. To counteract this next time you set your watch, stop the second hand at 12, move the minute hand past the correct time [by about 30 minutes] then move it backwards [counter clockwise] to set the minute hand to the exact time. This will remove the slack and have everything lined up correctly.

I was told that you should not move a machanical watch anti-clockwise so I was mis informed for all these years.

If it has a date function you don't want to move the hands backwards after 9:00 pm or before 2 or 3:00 am. However, on the 16710 GMT II, you can move forward or backward anytime without worry.

I know the GMT IIc, like my old Exp II, can move the hour hand backwards to move date back, but I can stop the watch and move the minute hand backwards as well then?

My brand new TT GMTIIc had this exact problem - it drove me absolutely nuts. I had the AD I got it from send it back to RSC and it has come back perfect - took a couple weeks.
